Last Day to Enter August CDAC Progressive Challenge

Today is the last day to enter CDAC's Progressive Challenge for August. If you enter, you will automatically receive the digistamps to be used for the first two weeks of September. Click on this link to get all the details.

This lovely teapot, cup and saucer are a couple of the freebies for August. I will probably use this card as one of the birthday cards I need this month. The background paper is one of the patterns from the Imagine Blossom Cartridge. The pink strip is a scrap from a card I made earlier this week. I used Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Edge Punch on one edge and added tiny seed pearls. After coloring the digistamp with Promarkers, I added Glossy Accents to the teapot and cup and saucer to make them look more like glass. The accent embellishment is a piece of tulle tied with ribbon. Promarkers used:
Flowers - Purple, Fuschia, Violet
Leaves - Leaf Green, Forest
Tea Pot & Cup - Ivory, Vanilla, Gold Gel Pen

This is a side view. I adhered the teapot, cup and saucer with foam adhesives for dimension.

The inside of the card is simple. I added a label and used Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Corner Punch.

Donna, Jacob and Craig are in Pigeon Forge for a few days before school starts. Jacob starts to school Sept. 6. Their school opening was delayed because of the tornadoes in April.

They are staying at The Wilderness in the Smokies which has a huge water park. Does Jacob look like he's having a ball or what?

They have a ride called the "Storm Chaser". Donna calls it "The Toilet!!" Apparently, it's pretty tall. It drops you and you fall into this tube of water that swirls round and round (like a toilet), then dumps you in about 3 feet of water. They talked Donna into going down it yesterday. She screamed all the way down. You've not heard anyone scream until you hear Donna scream. LOL

She told the guys last night, "I'M NOT GOING TO RIDE THE TOILET tomorrow. Jacob thought she might change her mind but she didn't. I was invited to go with them but that doesn't sound like my kind of fun.

Thanks for stopping by today. We love your visits and comments. God Bless You!!!! Peggy

Hi Everyone - Donna here - we have had a blast the past few days but it's back to reality tomorrow. Open House for school is on Thursday! Jacob said that the only thing that would have made our trip better is if Mamaw had come with us!! I don't think we would have talked mom into going down "the toilet" though - I had a moment of pure insanity. The first time Jacob rode it, he started crying, but then he wanted to do it again and again!! Thanks for your visits and your comments!! Mom, you did a great job on the card (as usual)!! Until another day, God Bless You!! Donna

Lori's Garden Birthday Card

We're back to the time of year when we have bunches of birthdays in our family and friends.  So it's time to get started on them.  I made this card using the Lori's Garden cartridge.  This is one of my favorite Imagine cartridges.
I edge punched one edge of pink cardstock with the Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Edge Punch.  Adhere to card base. The frame is from the Icon section of the Lori's Garden handbook on page 33. I cut 2 of these. The top layer flower swag is on page 13.  After putting white cardstock behind one frame, I adhered it to the card base.  I used foam adhesives to attach the second frame and flowers to give dimension.

This is a side view showing the layers.

This is the inside of the card.  I used the same MS punch to decorate the edges of the message label.

Thank you for visiting and for your comments.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Balloon Release for Gentle Ben

We told you earlier in the week it was my late husband's birthday and we were going to release balloons with notes attached to them in his honor.  This was Donna's son, Jacob, idea.  He is such a sensitive little boy and he loved his Papaw tremendously.  Here are a couple of pictures.

Notice the hole in the clouds in this picture.  Just like heaven is making a way for them to make it.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and we'll see you next time.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Just Fluttering By - Butterfly Card using Florals Embellished

Hi Everyone! I bought the Florals Embellished cartridge a few months ago because I just "had" to have it. Well, last week when Mom and I were trying to get me organized, I found it - HAAAAA!! So I thought I would make something with it.

I used Design Studio to weld together two of the Butrfly2s on Page 64 of the Florals Embellished book. This formed the card base cut at 7" x 5". I then cut the Btfly2-s, Layer 1, and Layer 2 to decorate the card base. I think it turned out rather pretty!!

Now I remember why I wanted this cartridge so bad. If you don't have it yet, it's worth purchasing. Thanks for stopping by today - we appreciate your visits and your comments. Until another day, God Bless You! Donna

Sophie Butterfly Card

I received my Sophie cartridge today so, of course, I had to play with it.  In my opinion, this is the best Circle cartridge yet.  The cartridge has some lovely images and lots of card options.  I chose the card 1 option on Page 27 for this creation.

I used pearlized paper and cut it at 4.2.
This is the inside of the card.  I used the cutouts from the front to decorate the top inside liner.
This card easy to make.  I like easy.  I feel like I'm cheating.

Donna and Jacob left to go home around noon today.  I miss them already.  I always go through a period of feeling low when they leave.  Love you, Donna and Jacob.

Thanks for dropping in today.  I hope you find some inspiration here.  You make it all worthwhile.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Expression and Imagine Covers

Donna and Jacob are leaving today.  I sure hate to see them go.  We had a wonderful time.  We released the balloons in honor of Ben's birthday today.  It was beautiful.  Jacob was excited to do this since it was his idea.  I think we might make this an annual event.

Donna has been wanting a cover for her Imagine and Expression for some time.  She talked me into giving it a try.  Here are the results of our efforts.
Imagine Cover
 Expression Cover

After choosing our fabric, I measured the Imagine and cut out my pattern.  I used to sew a lot but haven't in several years.  However, it's just like riding a bicycle.  You never forget.

After getting the covers sewn together, we decided they needed some decoration.  I made some flowers and bows to go on them.  The flowers are made this way.

Take a yard of ribbon.  Make long running stitches through it.  Gather the ribbon as you go.  Roll gathered ribbon into a flower.  If you make your stitches zig zag through the ribbon, you get a different effect than just straight stitches.  Try both.

Thank you for your visits and comments.  God Bless You!!!! Peggy

Happy Birthday, Gentle Ben

Today would have been my husband's birthday.  I know you probably get tired of us mentioning him and how special he was.  But I cannot let this day go by without wishing him Happy Birthday.

Donna and Jacob are here with me.  Jacob had an idea to celebrate Papaw's birthday.  He wants to write messages and attach them to balloons and release them so they can go to Papaw for him to read.  So after lunch and birthday cupcakes, we are going to do just that.  I bought several balloons.  We're going to make tags, write messages to Ben and laminate them before tying them to the balloons.  I hope the Lord will let Ben know how much he is missed.

Thank you for letting me share my heart today.  I pray each of you will know love like I knew love.  Please come back tomorrow for another visit.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

50 Cent Notebook Made Beautiful with Vinyl and Imagine

Hi Everyone!  I bought a 50 Cent notebook today at Office Depot.  Actually, I bought three of them.  I have directions for numerous projects printed out with no place to store them.  I've been wanting to use printable vinyl with my Imagine so I thought I would decorate my cheap notebooks to make them beautiful.  Below is the first of the notebooks that Mom and I decorated today:

Here is a picture of the notebook before we started.

We used Home Decor for the word "Create" and flooded with colors from the "All Wrapped Up" Imagine Cartridge.  The butterfly and the flower are from the "All Wrapped" Imagine Cartridge.  This is a picture of the setup of the project and also after we printed and cut it.

You can see the finished product is so much prettier!!  I think I've started a new vinyl addiction!!  Oh No!!
Thanks for stopping by - we appreciate your visits and your comments.  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

To Update You On Our Progress

Just to update you on the progress we're making in Donna's craft area.  It is a slow go.  We have got the ribbon and the buttons organized.  Ribbon was a BIG chore.  We've got one huge storage tub full to dispose of and have started on another.  She's using one small area of their bonus room as her craft area, which is totally not big enough.  I think what she should do is take her spare bedroom for her craft room.  Think I'll pass that suggestion along to her tomorrow.  I'm not sure how long I will be here.  May go home tomorrow or Saturday.  I hope we can get back to crafting soon.

Have a wonderful weekend.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!! - Stars and Stripes Lara

Hi Everyone!  Last week, many of our Armed Forces were killed so I wanted to do something patriotic to honor those that lost their lives and the families that sacrafice so much to maintain our freedom and to secure the freedom of others.  I chose to use Stars and Stripes Lara by Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  Lara was one of the first digis that I ever used by Wendy at Digital Delights.  I think she's adorable.

I used the instructions on Splitcoaststampers to create a Center Step Card.  The instructions are very easy to follow and it makes a great card that showcases the digi.  I also used the Patriotic Paper Pack by Digital Delights to decorate the card.

Please pray for all the troops, their families, and our country.  Thank you for your visit and your comments.  Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna

I've Caught the Craft Bug - Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge

Yesterday, we gave you a glimpse at what it's like to be a crafting addict.  When I saw this image, I knew I had to make a card with him.  This is for all our crafting friends who suffer from the same malady.  LOL

To begin with I colored the image, Craft Bug by "priscillastyles" with my Promarkers.  I will list the colors below.  Then I took the Cricut Everyday cartridge  and chose the bottles and scissors images.  Sorry, I forgot to bring my notes where I wrote down the page numbers of the images I used.  I loaded the cartridge in my Imagine and flood filled them with color, then printed and cut them.

I also cut 2 scalloped ovals and flood filled them with patterns from the Yummy Imagine Cartridge.

Next I added my image to the ovals.

I applied him to my card base, then cut some inch squares to represent cardstock and added my computer generated sentiment.

Promarkers used to color Craft Bug.
Bug - Lime Zest, Lime Green, Mango, Dusky Pink
Wings - Lime Zest, Cool Gray 1

Challenges I will enter this card in:
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Paper Playtime - Anything Goes

Be sure to check out Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge today.  This is my entry for it.  I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I had fun making him.  I know he's not fancy or anything, but he is so appropriate for how we feel sometimes.  Thank you for your visit and support.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

I HAVE AN ADDICTION!!!!

Hi Everyone!  I've always been taught that confession is good for the soul.  Well, my dear friends, I'm here to confess!!!  My mom is at my house for a visit and we decided to organize my "Happy Space!"  Well, let me say that my "Happy Space" is NOT my "Happy Space" right now!!  It is turned upside down and every which way and is a total wreck!!!  Mom and I have made the biggest mess all in the hopes of organizing me!  To be serious, I'm beginning to wonder if there is any hope of my space being organized.

One thing I've realized through working on this project is that "I HAVE AN ADDICTION" to all things papercrafting.  I am a "sick" person.  Mom said she was going to call the show "Hoarders" on me and have them come do an intervention!  BAhhhhhaaaaaa!!!!  To show you what we're dealing with and to help me purge some of this from my home, we took some pictures to show you my guilt!!

Before you proceed to the pictures, prepare yourself to be amazed at the "STUFF" with which we are dealing!!  Prepare yourself for the shock and remember to pray that I'll be delivered from this sickness - teehee!!!

See what I mean - I told you I was sick!!  Hopefully, we'll work our way through this soon and be back to making cards!!  Thanks for stopping by and we hope to hear from you again soon!!  Until another day, God Bless You, Donna!!

Actually, girls, I can't say anything about Donna's space.  I have too much "stuff" too.  Check out the blog tomorrow for a card I could not resist making.
God Bless YOU!!!!  Peggy

Art Nouveau Butterfly Side Flap Card

So I made the trip through Atlanta up to Ringgold, GA to see Donna and family.  Atlanta on a Friday afternoon is not fun.  Last night we did a little creating.  We came up with this card.  We couldn't get it finished early enough to get it posted at our usual time, hence the late post.  We couldn't come up with a better name so we're just calling it a side flap card.  Sorry about my finger in the picture.

Cut a 5X7.5" strip of paper from double sided paper.  Score at 2.5" and fold on the score line.

I chose the Butterfly on page 53 of the Art Nouveau Cricut Cartridge.  It was cut at 3".  With the Imagine, I chose colors from the Enjoy the Seasons Imagine Cartridge and flood filled the different parts of the butterfly.  You can just choose different colors of cardstock and cut on the Expression.  Cut 2 of each.

I put the layers together and added Star Dust Stickles to some of the dots on the butterfly.

Attach one of the butterflies to the front flap as shown.  Cut a background shape for the second butterfly and attach it.  I used one of the shapes on the Imagine and used one of the accent colors in the butterfly to color it.

On the inside, cut 2 1/2"X5" strip of pattern paper and 2 1/4" of the solid  and adhere it to the front flap.  Adhere the second butterfly directly under the one on the flap so they are lined up together.
I hope you enjoy making one of these cards.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful weekend.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

I Have Happy Feet

Have  you ever made a flap card?  They are very simple yet give you a different look in a card.  I hope you will want to make one after looking at how easy they are to make.   This is my flap card.
I started in Cricut Craft Room, welded a 4" scallop circle from the Bloom Lite Cartridge to a 4X9 rectangle from the George cartridge.  The total length of the scallop and rectangle should be 4X11.  I then chose a 4" scalloped oval frame from the Ashlyn cartridge.  I used the hide contour feature and hid the inside line so it would cut a solid scalloped ovalThis can also be done in Design Studio and on the Gypsy.

This is how it looks when cut.  I chose Basic Grey Euphoria for my background paper.
Turn 11" card base over.  Score at 4 1/4" and again at 8 1/2".  Fold on scored lines.
Decorate the scalloped oval with anything you like. I chose this darling little image and colored her with Promarkers. She is another free digi offered in the CDAC Progressive Challenge.  Check it out.
This is the inside of the card.  The embellishments are from Basic Grey Euphoria.  The scalloped circle is from the Bloom cartridge.

Attach decorated scalloped oval to the flap.

I hope you will try this little card.  I would love to see what you make.  Thanks for your visits and comments.  God Bless You!!! Peggy
