VOTIVE CANDLE HOLDER, CARD, GIFT TAG - GINGERBREAD CARTRIDGE, DIGITAL DELIGHTS

Hi Everyone!  I saw this little cutey Christmas Tree on the Digital Delights by Louby Loo website and just had to smile!  He's soooooo happy and guess what his name is?  "Smiley Tree!!"  Now isn't that just perfect that this little tree?  I thought I would make several different things using him.

I colored the trees with my favorite markers - Promarkers - then cut them out.  I then used the Circut Craftroom to weld two Christmas Trees together from the Gingerbread Cartridge.  I folded the trees in half to form a card.  I adhered a Smiley Tree to each side of the card.

I then cut another Christmas tree out and adhered a Smiley Tree to the front, punched a hole through the star and tied red ribbon through the hole - voila - gift tag!!

Last but not least, I decided to make a votive candle holder.  Now let me state that this votive candle is "battery operated" so that it won't burn the house down!!  To form the base, I cut out a 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" square.  I scored at 3/4" all the round around.  I cut the corners and then used Tacky Tape to form the base.

I adhered a Smiley Tree on two sides of the base. I popped the candle inside and then glued the two stars together.

I hope these projects brought a smile to your face just like they did mine!!  Thanks for stopping by - we so love company!!  After visiting us, please stop by the Digital Delights to see all the beautiful creations made by the other Design Teams members.  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

Haystacks the Scarecrow - Pumpkin Card using Damask Decor

Hi Everyone - today for my DT post for Digital Delights at Louby Loo, I decided to make a Fall/Thanksgiving Card. I used"Haystacks the Scarecrow" and the "Pumpkin Set". I must say that I just love this scarecrow. He was so much fun to color.

I wanted to make a card that was near the shape of the pumpkins in the digi stamp from Digital Delights. I used www.mycutsearch.com to find a pumpkin on the Damask Decor cartridge.

In Design Studio, I merged two pumpkins together to form the cardbase. I also decided that I would decorate the inside of the card, so I put two smaller pumpkins on the mat to be cut at the same time. I put yellow cardstock on the top of the mat to be the card and then red cardstock on the bottom of the mat for the inside of the card. A picture of my file in Design Studio is below.

I colored Haystacks and the Pumpkin Set using Promarkers. I then cut each digi out. I adhered the pumpkin set to the front of the card and used pop dots on Haystacks to add more dimension to the card.

In Word, I merged the digital sentiment "Ever Thankful" from the Fall Sentiments set with the Pumpkin Set. I printed it on white cardstock and then used a 1 1/2 inch circle punch to cut it out. I then pop dotted it on the front of the card.

All in all, I think Mr. Haystacks turned out pretty cute!! He makes me think of Thanksgiving and my Mom's famous (within our family) dressing!! Thanksgiving wouldn't be Thanksgiving without my mom's dressing. Usually around the first of November, when I call my mom (several times a day), I'll ask at least once - "Do I smell dressing cooking?" For those of you that don't know, my mom is a VERY GOOD cook!!

Well, thanks for letting me ramble on. Thanks for your visits and I hope you also take a visit over to Digital Delights to find all the digis used in this card. Wendy has many wonderful digital stamps for every occasion. Also, check out all the other Design Team's creations. Thanks for your visits and your comments - we do appreciate them!! Until another day, God bless you!! Donna

I Have Happy Feet

Have  you ever made a flap card?  They are very simple yet give you a different look in a card.  I hope you will want to make one after looking at how easy they are to make.   This is my flap card.
I started in Cricut Craft Room, welded a 4" scallop circle from the Bloom Lite Cartridge to a 4X9 rectangle from the George cartridge.  The total length of the scallop and rectangle should be 4X11.  I then chose a 4" scalloped oval frame from the Ashlyn cartridge.  I used the hide contour feature and hid the inside line so it would cut a solid scalloped ovalThis can also be done in Design Studio and on the Gypsy.

This is how it looks when cut.  I chose Basic Grey Euphoria for my background paper.
Turn 11" card base over.  Score at 4 1/4" and again at 8 1/2".  Fold on scored lines.
Decorate the scalloped oval with anything you like. I chose this darling little image and colored her with Promarkers. She is another free digi offered in the CDAC Progressive Challenge.  Check it out.
This is the inside of the card.  The embellishments are from Basic Grey Euphoria.  The scalloped circle is from the Bloom cartridge.

Attach decorated scalloped oval to the flap.

I hope you will try this little card.  I would love to see what you make.  Thanks for your visits and comments.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Birthday Cards - Bugaboo Digital Stamp

Hi Everyone!!  I just spent the weekend with my little mama!  She came for a visit and we had a good time just doing nothing!!  That's why we didn't have any blog entries this weekend - we just enjoyed each other's company.

I made these two cards last week to be entered into four challenges each but I was so busy that I didn't have time to enter them.  Oh well, maybe next time.

I made these birthday cards using a digi from Bugaboo Digital Stamps for two of the volunteers that work in my office.

I colored both digis using the following Promarkers:

Leaves - Pear Green, Pine, Forest Green
Bugs - Poppy, Red, Cool Grey 5
Flowers - Gold, Sunflower, Tulip Yellow, Yellow, Pumpkin, Orange, Cool Grey 2 & 3

For this card, I used Design Studio to weld together two scalloped circles at 5.75" from the Lacy Labels cartridge.  I cut the second circle at 4.85 and the scalloped frame at 4.75.  Sentiment is Word generated.

For the second card, I cut two scalloped circles from the Lacy Labels cartridge at 3" and 2".  I used the swirl cuttlebug embossing folder on one of the circles.

My volunteers loved their cards.  They're such sweet people!!  Thanks for visiting with us today and we hope you'll come back again tomorrow.  Have a great Monday and until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

MY MOM WAS A WINNER IN THE LETRASET CONTEST!

Hi Everyone!! I'm sooooooo excited that I'm bubblin' over with pride. Last week, Enfys, of the Going Buggy blog, held a contest sponsored by Letraset. The company that makes the Promarkers that everyone (including me) loves!! To compete in the contest, you had to submit something that was colored with the Letraset Promarkers. There would be five winners and their artwork would be featured at exhibits/art shows hosted by Letraset.
Well, here comes the exciting part - MY MOM WON!!!!!!!!!! Yes, she was one of the five winners selected by the Letraset executives. This is the card that Mom submitted as one of her entries. Now you tell me, is that absolutely gorgeous or what???

Needless to say, I am VERY PROUD of my mom. She has perfected her technique in coloring and making cards. I'm proud to say that I'm her blog partner. I also know that her biggest fan, which was my Dad, hasn't stopped grinning all day and that his face is beaming with pride (if you can have pride in Heaven).

Thanks for visiting our blog and please join me in congratulating my mom on the recognition of her wonderful talent and hard work!! WAY TO GO, MOM!! Love you BUNCHES!!

Until another day, God Bless You!! Donna
