I Have Happy Feet

Have  you ever made a flap card?  They are very simple yet give you a different look in a card.  I hope you will want to make one after looking at how easy they are to make.   This is my flap card.
I started in Cricut Craft Room, welded a 4" scallop circle from the Bloom Lite Cartridge to a 4X9 rectangle from the George cartridge.  The total length of the scallop and rectangle should be 4X11.  I then chose a 4" scalloped oval frame from the Ashlyn cartridge.  I used the hide contour feature and hid the inside line so it would cut a solid scalloped ovalThis can also be done in Design Studio and on the Gypsy.

This is how it looks when cut.  I chose Basic Grey Euphoria for my background paper.
Turn 11" card base over.  Score at 4 1/4" and again at 8 1/2".  Fold on scored lines.
Decorate the scalloped oval with anything you like. I chose this darling little image and colored her with Promarkers. She is another free digi offered in the CDAC Progressive Challenge.  Check it out.
This is the inside of the card.  The embellishments are from Basic Grey Euphoria.  The scalloped circle is from the Bloom cartridge.

Attach decorated scalloped oval to the flap.

I hope you will try this little card.  I would love to see what you make.  Thanks for your visits and comments.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

4th Grade Classroom Door - Spring

Hi Everyone - Using Design Studio and my Expression, I cut the decorations for Jacob's teacher's door for Spring.  You know that the schools are not allowed to mention anything about God so I wanted to come up with a saying that might possibly bring the Easter Holiday to mind!  To come up with the saying, I first thought about the Easter Holiday and the Resurrection of Christ and then I thought about how the flowers start blooming, the trees start budding, and all the animals are coming out from a long winter's nap!! I decided to use the saying,

"Spring brings new life to the world!"

Door Recipe:

Spring - Stretch Your Imagination
Other Words - welded using Design Studio and Cursive 101
Archway, Picket Fence, Flowers - Bloom
Border - Plantin, WIMG
Squirrels - can't remember

I think it turned out pretty!  Thanks for coming by and visiting - we hope you'll come back tomorrow!  If you see something you like, please let us know.  Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna

Fluttering By To Say...

Welcome to our new followers and to our regular visitors.  We hope you find some inspiration to get your creative juices flowing.

Hi Everyone - I made this card to enter the Sketch Challenge on the CDAC website.  I made this card for the best boss in the world who just happens to be my boss.  She is always doing things to show me her appreciation so I made this card to say thank you.

I cut the scalloped circle using the Bloom Cricut Cartridge at 4 3/4" and the regular circle with the George Cartridge 4 1/4".  The digi was provided in the challenge and I colored the butterflies with the following Promarkers:

Pastel Green
Mint Green

Thanks for stopping by our blog today.    Until another day, God Bless!  Donna

Donna and I were working on this challenge at the same time.  We did not discuss how we were coloring this image.  It amazes me sometimes that we choose colors so similar even though we're miles apart.  I love her card.  Ms. Jean is going to love it.  Here is my take on the image.

Materials used:
5X6.5" card base
Background papers - GCD Studios Ella Blue
Flowers - Mother's Day Bouquet- Petals cut at 1", .75" and .5"
Jewels for ceners
Scallop - Bloom Cricut Cartridge - cut at 5"
Circle - Bloom Cricut Cartridge - cut at 4.5"
Embossing on card base - Cuttlebug Kassie's Brocade - I don't think you can see much of the embossing on my card.
Promarkers used:
Butterfly - Powder Blue, Pastel Blue, Carmine, Canary, Bright Green

I do hope you will come back tomorrow.  We love your visits and comments.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

This is another card I think I will enter in Enfys Cashmore's Promarker Competition.  That is if more than one entry is allowed.

VALENTINE GIFTS - HOW TO INSTRUCTIONS

Hi Everyone - I recently received the February issue of the CARDS magazine.  One of the articles showed how to make paper roses so I thought I would try to make a few flowers to go on some Valentine's gifts for Jacob's teachers.

1.  Cut 8 - 8 petal flowers at 3" using the Bloom Cricut Lite Cartridge.

2.  I cut the flowers according to the instruction in the book - an example of all the cut flowers is shown.  The first flower was cut between the middle of two petals to the middle of the flower.

3.  I then glued all the flowers together

4.  Once the flowers had dried, I snipped the point on the bottom of each flower.

5.  Then starting with the biggest flower, paste the flowers, one on top of the other.

I then cut hearts at 4" from the Love Struck Cartridge and adhered them to the front of the bag.  I stamped the sentiment and adhered to the bag and attached another flower.

I covered Hershey Nuggets with 3" strips of paper and put them in 3" cellophane bag. I cut labels at 4" and 3 1/2" with the Preserves Cartridge and stapled the labels and bags together.

I hope Jacob's teachers enjoy their gifts as much I enjoyed making them. Thank you for visiting with us.  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

My Antique Tea Cup

For my sixteenth birthday, my mother gave me a tea cup.  I thought it was pretty and have held onto it through all these years and all our moves.  This is what it looks like.  It's an antique now just like me.  LOL

When I came across this digital image from Heart Song Designs, I knew I had to make a card with it.  You can see it's not exactly like my tea cup but close enough to remind me of it.  I like how the card came out.

Card Recipe:
5X7 card
Background Paper - DCWV Ciao Bella-which means "Hello Beautiful
Digital Image from Heart Song Designs.  Click on the link to see/purchase.  Leah has some cute images and is trying to raise money for a worthy cause.
Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut Cartridge for the Flowers and Leaves.  I cut the leaves at 1" and went over them with a stylus to get them to pop a bit.  The bigger flower was cut at 1 1/2", 1 1/4" and 1".  The smaller flowers were cut at 1 1/4", 1" and .75".  I curled the petals up, glued them together and added purple bling.
Ribbon - mine is from the Dollar bin at Michael's.
Purple ink to ink edges of circle the image is on.
Scallop circle cut at 4 in. from the Bloom Cricut Cartridge
Promarkers used to color digital image:
Cup Handles and rims - Sakura Metallic Gold Gel Pen
Roses - Lavender, Purple
Leaves - Apple
Scrolls - Meadow Green
Teacup/Saucer - Primrose, Soft Lime, Cool Grey1

Thanks for looking at a bit of my history today.  Goodness, that makes me feel old.  But I'm not.  Jacob told me the last time he was here that I was like a 20 year old so I'm sticking with him.  LOL.  God Bless You All.  Peggy
