Heart Song Blog Hop
Hi Everyone, I thought I would remind you of the blog hop Friday and Saturday, April 1st and 2nd, for Heart Song Designs. We will be participating. The title is Spring Showers. I hope you will come back and join in. Leah will be giving away the new releases for that day to one lucky hopper. So we will look forward to your being here.
SAD DAY FOR MOM AND ME!!
Hi Everyone - Do you remember the other day when I asked that you pray for my Mom as she tried to make the decision to move near me? Well, yesterday, she had someone come look at her house for the second time (even though it's not even on the market yet). This person told my mom that she would let her know last night if she wanted it or not and that she was really interested in the house.
So here's the reason for the ugly card - the lady called Mom today and said she'd decided not to buy the house!!!!!! Needless to say, I had my hopes up and therefore this answer made me quite unhappy. I didn't feel like making a pretty card today and neither did Mom. Thus the awful drawing that's supposed to be a card. It's Mom and Me with our black clouds over us today shedding tears of sadness. When Jacob was two, he had an expression for when he was not happy - he would say, "I'm sad-e (pronounced sad with a long e). I told Mom today that I was "sade!" She said, yeah, me too!!
But I'm not giving up - I'm just going to continue to pray (along with Jacob who has a direct line to the man upstairs) that my Mom's house will sell. If you feel so inclined, we would appreciate your prayers too!! Thanks for stopping by and tomorrow we'll have something better to look at!! Until another day, God Bless You!! Now go say your prayers!! Donna

CDAC Freebie Challenge - Priscilla Styles
Sorry we didn't get anything posted yesterday. I took a road trip to Donna's. It was to surprise Jacob. He kept texting me on his Mom's phone Monday afternoon wanting to know when I was coming to visit him. So I just showed up to pick him up at school Tuesday afternoon. His chin almost hit the pavement. That was so much fun, just to see his reaction. Mamaw's are allowed to make surprises happen.
This little trio of framed flowers are part of the Freebie Challenge on CDAC. They are a free image produced by Priscillastyles and can be found here. Be sure you scroll through the comments to find the free images. There are several. You may be thinking you can't use a digital image but that's what I use to think. There are tutorials on CDAC to help you. So give it a try.
Card Materials:
5X6.5 Card Base
Background Paper - Kay and Co. Sweet Life - I cut another of the birds and popped him with pop dots.
Martha Stewart Trellis Punch - Strip of Peach colored paper
Ribbon
Prima flowers - folded in half and secured with glue, button and memory thread through center of button.
Promarkers used:
Flowers - Duck Egg, Cool Aqua, Soft Peach, Peach, Yellow
Leaves and grass - Leaf Green, Forest Green
Around Frames - Turquoise
Thank you for your support and we hope you enjoy visiting as much as we love for you to. God Bless You!!! Peggy

Florals Embellished Card #2
Donna was here over the weekend. We always get into trouble when she comes by going to Michaels or Hobby Lobby or both. You see we both have OCD (Obsessive Crafting Disorder). We really need help. Is there a doctor in the house? Anyway, we found some new stacks of DCWV paper stacks. We each bought one and shared with the other. I used Cotton Bloom for the background of this card.
Also recently, I got the Florals Embellished Cricut cartridge. There are some really nice embellishments and backgrounds on this cartridge. I used two of the images for my card. I don't recommend cutting this butterfly at 1.5" which I did. Those tiny red dots are a pain to add at that size.
Card Recipe:
A2 Card base
Background Paper - DCWV Cotton Bloom
Florals Embellished Cricut Cartridge - Flower on page 32 and Butterfly on page 66. Flower cut at 2.5", Butterfly cut at 1.5".
Thank you for dropping by today. Happy Wednesday. God Bless each of you!!! Peggy

Florals Embellished BD Card
I recently got the Florals Embellished cartridge and have been wanting to play with it. I had a little time yesterday so I decided to give it a go. This cartridge has a lot of interesting cuts on it. However, I was a little disappointed at how mine came out. Don't know if it was my choice of papers or what. I guess you can't have a super card everyday.

MY MOM WAS A WINNER IN THE LETRASET CONTEST!
Hi Everyone!! I'm sooooooo excited that I'm bubblin' over with pride. Last week, Enfys, of the Going Buggy blog, held a contest sponsored by Letraset. The company that makes the Promarkers that everyone (including me) loves!! To compete in the contest, you had to submit something that was colored with the Letraset Promarkers. There would be five winners and their artwork would be featured at exhibits/art shows hosted by Letraset.
Well, here comes the exciting part - MY MOM WON!!!!!!!!!! Yes, she was one of the five winners selected by the Letraset executives. This is the card that Mom submitted as one of her entries. Now you tell me, is that absolutely gorgeous or what???
Needless to say, I am VERY PROUD of my mom. She has perfected her technique in coloring and making cards. I'm proud to say that I'm her blog partner. I also know that her biggest fan, which was my Dad, hasn't stopped grinning all day and that his face is beaming with pride (if you can have pride in Heaven).
Thanks for visiting our blog and please join me in congratulating my mom on the recognition of her wonderful talent and hard work!! WAY TO GO, MOM!! Love you BUNCHES!!
Until another day, God Bless You!! Donna

Sweet Dreams Baby Book - LOTS OF CRICUT
You know there's nothing like a newborn baby to make you smile! Jacob's teacher, Ms. Pennington, is expecting her first grandchild this week so I decided I would make her a brag book for some of her photos. I don't know about you but I've never met a grandmother yet that didn't have plenty of pictures of their grandchildren to show you.
For this project, I used LOTS of Cricut Cartridges. I found a Rusty Pickle Chipboard Album that I bought at one of the CKC conventions that Mom and I attended. I used the Basic Grey Oh Boy Collection to cover the chipboard with 6 x 6 1/2 pieces.
COVER:Frame - I used Design Studio to make the frame using the George Cartridge. I welded two squares together then welded stars inside the frame.
Used Create A Critter to cut:
Sheep - 2 1/2"
Sweet Dreams - 1 1/2"
Clouds - 1 1/2", 3/4"
Stars - 1 1/4"
Moon - 1 1/4"
Popped the sheep and one of the clouds to add dimension.
PAGES 2 AND 3
Baby Blessings - cut at 1.5 x 3.8" with Wild Card and Design Studio
Heart Border - Martha Stewart Heart Lace Punch
Train - 1 3/4" - Create a Critter
PAGES 4 AND 5
Rocket - 6" (page), 4" (tag) - Just Because Cards Cartridge
Wagon - 4 1/2" - Just Because Cards Cartridge
PAGES 6 AND 7
Bear - 2 1/2" - Doodlecharms
Bottle Borders - 1" and 2" - Doodlecharms
PAGES 8 and 9
Giraffe - 4" - Create A Critter
Lion - 2" - Create A Critter
Heaven Sent - 1 1/4" - Stamping
Rattle - 1 1/4" Stamping
I made pockets out of the mats where the pictures will be placed on several of the pages and inserted tags so that Ms. Pennington will have a place to make journal entries.
GIFT BAG
Sheep - 6" - Create A Critter
I really enjoyed making this book and I hope Jacob's teacher will like it.
