Pop Up Box Card - Splitcoast Stampers

I've been seeing these Pop Up Box Cards on a lot of blogs lately.  I love trying new ideas so I thought I would make one for a friend who has a birthday coming up this month.  I first saw this on Splitcoast Stampers.  Here is the link to the tutorial in case you want to give it a try.  Since seeing the tutorial, there have been some who have created a cut file for the Cameo.  I used the tutorial.  A cut file would be much easier.

I used bright pink paper for the box and covered it with a double sided pattern paper.  The flowers came from a pad of KandCo. Paper Flowers.  I have had this pad of paper flowers for several years so I don't know if they still make it.  It has all sizes of flowers, leaves, and some other items.  Why I've never used it, I'll never know.  Out of sight, out of mind I guess.  The flourishes & leaves were cut from the Cindy Loo Cricut Cartridge.  This cartridge has a lot of flourishes on it.  The butterflies are from Martha Stewart punches.

There's a special reason I added so many butterflies.  I knew I was going to be posting this today. Today marks the 4th anniversary of my husband's passing.  My husband loved working in the yard and we had all kind of pretty flowers around the house.  Shortly after he died, there were more butterflies in our yard than I had ever seen.  They were beautiful.  Someone told me butterflies signify new life.  I think this was God's & my husband's way of confirming to me he had a new life in heaven.  We still miss him terribly but I know he's watching over us.

Thank you for visiting with us today.  Donna & I plan to spend this day together.  God Bless You!!! Peggy
