It is midnight and I've just finished my card for today's post. If this makes no sense, it's because I'm exhausted. I saw this card and the directions on the Cricut Couple's blog. Bobby has a wonderful tutorial so I am not going to try and tell you how to make it. I've put a link to the tutorial here. I am sure it didn't take him as long as it did me to make it. LOL
I made this card for my sister-in-law's birthday which is Friday. I used DCWV Lemon Flower Stack. I ruined several sheets before I finally got it right. The flowers and leaves are made with the Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge. As you can see I placed pearls in the centers of the flowers. Then placed pearl flourishes (from Michael's) on the top of the card.
This is the inside. I used the cutouts from the frames on the front. The frames were made using Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge. The edges are inked with Ochre colored ink.
This is a side view to show you the thickness of the top of the card. I am going to have to figure out a way to make an envelope for it. Any ideas.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! That's me screaming with excitement! YAY! YAY! YAY! Peggy, It's just GORGEOUS!!! Lovin' the pearls in the flowers too! OMG! I am So excited!!!
ReplyDeleteOk... For an envelope... You probably have a score board and a straight edge paper cutter. What you can do, since this is a 6x6 card, is make a box for it.
Take a piece of paper for the base and cut it at 7 1/16" x 7 1/16". Then for the lid, cut a piece at 7 1/8" x 7 1/8". Using your scoring board, score all four sides at 1/2". Fold and clue the corners and hold them with clips until the glue is dry. (There is a sassy tutorial on my blog making a box like this with the corners).
Once that is dry, you should be able to fit the card in the box and it should still be thick enough to keep the flowers from getting crushed too.
I am so excited that you made the card! It's gorgeous! You made my day!!!
