MICHEAL'S $1 BINS - GIFT BAGS - SILHOUETTE CAMEO
Hi Everyone -
Can we have a show of hands of the people out there that LOVE the Micheal's $1 Bins??? Well, I must say that I can't go in Michael's without spending money on the $1 items in those bins. There are LOTS of goodies to be had in that area.
With that thought in mind, I like to get things in the bins in order to give a little something to Jacob's teachers. I have found that if you keep the teachers happy, they will take good care of your child. So I try to send them a little something for each holiday. Well, these bags are going to Jacob's teachers tomorrow in celebration of the first day of fall. I also send something to the school nurse, Ms. Kristen, because she takes good care of Jacob too when he's not feeling well.
So I got all his teachers and nurse something for a total of $10. Not a bad price for making five people smile!!
I used my Silhouette to create the Chevron monograms for each bag. I tried to match the color of the monogram to the items inside the bag. I think they turned out cute!
Now let me clarify that Jacob will NOT be delivering these to his teachers. He's too embarrassed and cool to make the deliveries so my Mom said she will take them to the school tomorrow on her way to her bowling league! Too funny!!
Well, thanks so much for stopping by today - Mom and I appreciate your visits and your comments. If you've found the Micheal's $1 bins as much fun as we have, please let us know. It's nice to know there are others that have the same addictions as we do!! Until another day, God Bless You!! Donna

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AUNT LINDA!! - Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone - well, several more September birthdays are rolling around this week. I made this card for my Aunt Linda. Thank goodness for my Silhouette. It's so easy to purchase a card design from the store, pick the paper you want to use, put it on the mat, push cut, and VOILA - a la card!!!
I really like how this card looked - sunshiny and fresh - just like my Aunt Linda! She lives in South Carolina and I don't know if you all know someone from South Carolina or not, but they have a very distinctive accent. I love to hear my Aunt Linda talk!! She is a true Southern Belle!!!
One tip about this card - while I was making it, I realized that if I wrote a message on the inside of the card that it would show through the circle on the front of the card. So what I did is I made the blue sky so it could be removed to read the message underneath. I just wrote "lift" on the top of the sky on the inside of the card.
This is an A2 card and was truly fun to make! Go purchase it from the Silhouette store, make it for someone, and make their day when they receive it in the mail.
Thanks so much for stopping by - Mom and I appreciate your visits and comments. Until another day, God Bless You!!! Donna

THANK YOU - Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone - me again - surprise!!!
Well, I needed a thank you note for a friend of mine. This friend is also one of my volunteers. Her husband and she are trying to help my nephew get booked at a music festival that occurs in Chattanooga, TN every year. It's a fun two week event where each night a different line up of bands/musicians entertain tens of thousands of people with their music.
So again, I went to the Silhouette store and purchased this card. I think that Carol and her hubby, Mickey, will like it. My mama taught me to make sure I thank someone when they do something nice for you. Hopefully, my nephew, Christopher, will get booked and Mamaw and I can go watch him just down the street from our houses!
Thanks for visiting - until another day - God Bless You!! Donna

Paper A La Mode Challenge - Inspired By A Movie
We begin a new challenge today at The Outlawz Paper A La Mode. Our theme is 'Inspired By A Movie'. Our sponsor is Rick St. Dennis. When I read what the challenge would be I couldn't think of a movie I would use. So I went to Rick's Zibbett Page to look at his images to see if I could get any inspiration. When I saw this image it brought back memories of when I was a little girl. (Yes, I was once young) My grandmother took me to see "Alice In Wonderland" when it first came out and I loved that. I loved the fact she took me to the movies periodically. She would take me to see a movie, then we would stop next door at drugstore that served food for a hot dog. Such special times. See you never know what the little things you do for people will mean to them, especially children.
Back to my card.
Card Supplies:
Card Base - Bracket Shaped Card - Silhouette file #54161
Image - Alice in Garden of Live Flowers by Rick St. Dennis
Cheshire Cat in Tree - Silhouette File #9067 by Samantha Walker
White Rabbit - Silhouette File #9114 by Samantha Walker
The Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit are cut files but I took a Snip-it of them, opened them in Silhouette Studio, traced them, then print and cut them. I love that feature about the Silhouette Cameo.
Pebbles chalk for the background of the label.
Promarkers used to color the image:
Hair - Gold, Tulip Yellow, Buttercup, Ivory
Skin - Coral, Sun-kissed Pink, Baby Pink
Dress - Arctic Blue, Powder Blue, Azure

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GAIL!!! - Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone - me again!!! I know it's a shock - two days in a row!! Mom has kept the blog going for so long while I've been so busy with work, school, life in general that I thought I would give her a break for two days in a row!! She makes such beautiful work and puts so much time into all her creations - I thought she needed a break!!
So yesterday, I told you that my mother-in-law's birthday was coming up next week! So she doesn't like me to give her store bought cards - she keeps all my cards and sets them out for a long time after her birthday has passed. So I thought I would make her this pop up card from the Silhouette store! It was very easy to make - simply load the paper, send it to the Silhouette and the machine does all the work. The hardest part is deciding what color of paper to use.
Here is the front that I printed out with the Silhouette:
and here's the inside of the card:
I think she'll really like it. Now off to make some more cards for my Aunt Linda, Aunt Nellie, friend Tanner, and brother Brian!! I'm sure that I can find something in the Silhouette store for each of them!
Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit and we would love to hear your comments! Stop by again to see what Mom makes for all these people too - I'm sure it'll be beautiful as always! Until another day, God Bless You!! Donna

ROCKIN' 30TH BIRTHDAY CARD FOR CHRISTOPHER - Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone!
It's been so long since I made a project with my Silhouette that I had to wash an inch of dust off of it. I've been so busy lately that I haven't been able to go into my "Happy Place" which makes Donna not such a "Happy" person!
As Mom said the other day, September is "Birthday Month" in our family. It seems like every other day is someone's birthday in our family. Saturday was Mom's birthday and today is my sister-in-law, Terrie's, birthday!! See what I mean!
Well, my nephew Christopher's birthday is September 15th! He'll be 30!!!! He plays a guitar in a band and writes his own music so I thought I'd make him a card along that line. I put the word guitar in the search engine of the Silhouette and viola - up popped this guitar card! PERFECT!!!!
So, I cut out all the pieces and assembled.
Using the Silhouette, I printed out the sentiment for the inside of the card which reads:

I wasn't kidding!!

Folded Shirt Card
September is the birthday month in our family. This coming Saturday is my brother-in-law's birthday. He and my sister are big fans of my cards so I wanted to make him one he will like. I hope this one fits the bill.
Card Supplies:
Tutorial for Folded Shirt Card - There are several on the internet but I found this one to be helpful. I had printed off one from Martha Stewart but there were no pictures and I need pictures. This one has pictures and a video. It's from Card Making Magic.com.
Paper is from my stash. Thinner paper is better.
Ink for inking the edges of the tie.
White gel pin for making stitches on the pocket on the inside.
This is the inside of the card where I will write my sentiment.
Thank you for stopping by today. If you've got a masculine card you need to make. Try one of these cards. They're easy. God Bless You!!!! Peggy

What I Did Labor Day Weekend
I think Labor Day is supposed to be a time of fun and sharing it with family & friends. Well, I took it literally and labored all weekend. I spent it organizing my craft room. I came to these realizations:
- I am a sick woman for buying all this "stuff". Why do I think I have to have one or two of everything?
- If I live to be 110 years old and made something everyday, I would never use all this stuff.
- I need to adopt a nursing home and use the cards I make to cheer up the people there. Some of them have no one to visit them.
- I'm sure there are other things I resolved to do while I was working on my craft room but these are the main ones.
Here are some pictures of the "Organize Project."
Thank you for visiting today. How many of you are as bad as Donna & I about buying crafty stuff? God Bless You!!!!! Peggy
