A2 Cards for Nursing Home

I made application to volunteer at local nursing home.  I've done all the requirements, just waiting to hear from them.  I know sometimes they have an activity like scrapbooking for the patients to do.  That got my mind to thinking.  I think card making would be a good activity also.  I thought I could have all the elements cut out and put in a little baggie.  Then all they would have to do is put the card together.  I haven't gotten to run this by the volunteer coordinator yet.  These are some of the cards I came up with.
Card Supplies:
A2 card base - from boxed cards purchased at Michaels.
All the sentiments and backgrounds are cut with Anna Griffin Dies.
Flowers are Anna Griffin floral stickers.

I think these would be great for an activity.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  I'm in Virginia with my son and daughter-in-love.  The weather is so  nice.  It was 66 degrees this morning.  Til next time.

God Bless You!!! Peggy

DS4J Mid-Month May Challenge - Add A Ribbon

The 15th of the month marks the mid-point for the DS4J Challenge.  It is always Anything Goes.  This month we have a twist of "Add A Ribbon". I used ribbon on my card a little differently than a bow. I used it to run down the center of my card and place the digistamp on.

Card Supplies:
5X7 Card Base
Card embossed with a Cuttlebug Folder
Anna Griffin Die
Image - Tulip Basket by Margaret Kieser, our leader at DS4J
Image colored with Promarkers
Pebbles chalk to shade around image.
Plaid Ribbon

Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you will visit our challenge blog.  There is also a new release of digis there today as well.

Aurora Prayer - The East Wind

I saw this digital image on Facebook the other day when a lady posted that she was making a prayer journal and used it on her journal.  I fell in love with it then and knew I had to use her on a card.
Card Supplies:
5X7 card base
Background paper - AG Georgette Collection
Die Cut - AG Ornamental Frame Die - foil paper for the frame
Image colored by Promarkers
Heart Doily
Flowers from my stash
Sentiment stamp by Close To My Heart

After coloring the image I scanned it, uploaded it into Design Space and saved it as a print then cut file, so I can use it when I need this type of card again.  I don't get paid for saying this but I love so many features of design space.

Thank you for visiting with me.  I hope you will give some thought to using some digital images on your cards.  It is relaxing to color them.

God Bless You!!!! Peggy

    Birthday Card From My Stash

I mentioned yesterday I have been going through all the "stuff" in my craft room.  I was throwing paper in a box to go to a school or Goodwill.  Some stacks were thick and sturdy enough to cut cards out of, so I strategically cut cards from some one-sided patterned paper.  I really love that the background of the card is already there and the back of the card is decorative too. This card is made with one of those cut from  patterned paper.

    Card Directions:
I took the card I cut from patterned paper. 10X7".
This is the front after being folded.
This is the back.  See how pretty it is.  Much better than just getting a plain white back.
Then I took a piece of white Vellum - 10X7", folded in half so it is 5X7".  I placed it inside an Anna Griffin Cuttlebug folder and ran it through my Cut n Boss.  The design will be on both sides of the vellum card.
I ran a strip of adhesive down the folded side of the blue card, then placed it inside of the vellum card.  The adhesive will hold it in place.  No need to do the back, just the front fold.

    I die cut two butterflies.
I added the butterflies and a sentiment to the front of the card.  Now you have a beautiful and elegant card using your stash.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really enjoyed making this card.  I saw the idea of using the vellum on an Anna Griffin video.  It really perks up a card.  Let me know if you try this.  Until later,

    God Bless You!!!  Peggy

    Anniversary Card

Have you ever made a card and when you finished it, you thought, "I'm going to make a second one of these to have on hand."?  This is one of those cards.  Now I must confess, when I quit working on it last night I thought it was a lost cause.  The paper and the colors I was trying to put together just would not satisfy me.  So, I put it aside until this afternoon.  I decided this afternoon to discard some of the die cuts I was using and to use a different color for the top die cuts.  I love it now.  This one will go to my brother in Texas and his wife who will be celebrating 40 years of marriage in March.

    Card supplies:
    6X6" card base
Background paper - DCWV Lace & Linen Stack
    Dies:
    Anna Griffin Fretwork Die
Anna Griffin Bow from the All Hearts Set
If you don't have the AG Dies, I believe these cuts are available in AG cartridges too.

    Butterfly Punch by Martha Stewart
    Pearls

Thanks for visiting with me today.  I hope you will try something like this and let me.  I would love to see your creations.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

    Christmas Card - Week #5

This is the 5th week for making cards on the FaceBook Group, Only Christmas Cards/Projects.   This is their challenge for the year of 2016.  I enjoyed making this one.

    Card Recipe:
    Card Base 5X6.5"
Background Paper - from my stash.  I've had this paper for years. The Seasons Greetings in the paper will serve as the sentiment for this card.

This is a very easy card but elegant and simple.

As promised, this will be the last valentine I will post with AG 'All Hearts' cutting and embossing folders.  I have had a fun time with them.  The cards were super easy to make.  The hardest part was choosing the paper.

I used scraps from the card yesterday to make this one.  I hope you enjoy it.

    Pink and Purple Valentine

Over the next couple of days I would like to share 2 more valentines made with AG 'All Hearts' Cutting and Embossing Dies.  I have really enjoyed these dies.  I think they would be pretty on other cards, wedding, anniversary, Mother's Day, etc.  If you have them, let me see some of your creations.

I created this card base with something else in mind but nothing would work out with this color combination.  When I was on the verge of throwing it away, I tried the hearts.  I like the way it came out.  The card base and the envelope came from the AG Flourish Cards and Embellishments cartridge....

Thank you for dropping by today.  I really appreciate your comments.  God Bless You!!!! Peggy

Why Am I Making Valentine Cards?

I don't normally make Valentine cards since my husband passed away.  However, I got the Anna Griffin "All Heart" Cut and Emboss Cuttlebug Dies in the mail a short time back and I started playing with them yesterday.  They cut such pretty hearts, ribbon and lattice I just had to make something.  Here's the first one I made.

The ribbon in the background could be used by itself on a card.  The heart dies come in 3 different sizes as you can see.  The Happy Valentines Day label is a file in Cricut Design Space.  Instead of cutting out of the  layers of the label, I chose to print it instead.  Very easy to make a print and cut file.  The background paper is from a stack of paper I have had for a long time.  It's called 'Smitten by KayandCo.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy

    Floral Embellishments/Cuttlebug Card

This card features another of Anna Griffin's Floral Embellishments.  I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder to emboss the card base.  The pink background was cut with one of Anna Griffin's Dies.  These dies add so much to a card.  I added a bow to the flowers.

    Some Not So Good News

I know I've been missing the past few days but I've been having some health issues.  After having an abnormal stress test, I had a heart catherization.  It appears I have one artery totally closed, one 70% closed and one on the back of my heart with 2 blockages.  I am scheduled to see a surgeon Tuesday to discuss by-pass surgery.  I would appreciate your prayers.

I did manage to finish this card for a friend's granddaughter's birthday.

This is a card base from Cricut Design Space and an image from Sassy Studio Designs.  I used Anna Griffin flourishes, flowers and embossing folders.  I hope she likes it.

Here is a close up of the image.
Thanks for stopping by today.  I'm not sure if I'll get anything done tomorrow but we'll see.  Thanks for your comments and prayers.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy

Anna's Garden Cards and Embellishments Card

It has been so long since I've posted anything on the blog, I've almost forgotten how.  I have been making things, just not posting so I've got some catching up to do.

I puchased the new Anna Griffin cartridges that came with the new Cricut Explore Air.  I don't have the Explore Air but with the Cricut Bluetooth Adapter and the original Explore, mine operates the same as the Air, wirelessly.

I used an image from Anna's Garden Cards and Embellishments cartridge to make this card.  The central image is one that is created to be drawn with the Explore.  I drew it, then colored it with Promarkers.  If you like flourishes, flowers, cards this is one cartridge you will want.  There are several images that can just be drawn plus sentiments you can add to your cards.

After I colored the image, I scanned it, then uploaded it into Cricut Design Space and created a print then cut file.  The background is embossed with an AG Garden Embossing Folder.  The corners are from AG Foil Flourishes.  The larger flower embellishment is from Anna Griffin's Pop-Up Card Kit.  Do you think I like Anna Griffin products?  LOL

I hope we will have enough traffic to warrant keeping the blog open.  Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you will leave us some love.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy
