A Berry Good Friend Card

I have seen some lovely stitching on a lot of cards.  Since I used to sew, I decided to try it.  This is my first card with stitching.  I'd probably do a lot more if I didn't have to go out to the garage to use my sewing machine.  Down-sizing has it's drawbacks.

Rainbow Scene

Hi Everyone.  It's my time to post on Heart Song Inspiration Blog.  For my card, I chose the Rainbow Scene.   As I was coloring it, I got to thinking about how God made a promise to Noah after the flood.  He promised He would never destroy the world again by flood.  I also thought of all the other promises in the Bible that He has made to us, His children.  So Leah's little Rainbow Scene became a source of inspiration for my little card and I hope for you as well.

Card Recipe:

A2 Card
Yellow Glitter Background Paper
Yellow Gingham Digi Paper from Doodle Pantry
Rainbow Scene Digital Image from Heart Song Designs Shop.
Mini Flower and Butterfly Brads

Thanks for looking at this post.  Be sure to scroll down and look at Donna's adorable candy box.  We both had to post something today so I tried to wait until hers had been up a while.  However, I don't want you to miss hers.  I love it.  God Bless YOU!!!  Peggy

LUCKY EWE!!

Hi Everyone - I decided I would try something new when I received this new digi from Laurie at Doodle Pantry Digi Stamps.  I decided that I would make something that would hold candy.

I used Design Studio and the cartridges George and Create A Critter to cut the horseshoe shape  at 6 x 7.  I then cut 2 strips of blue paper, scored it at 3/4 inch on both sides.  I then glue the strip of blue paper between the two horseshoe forms.

I then cut the horseshoe out again using the Digi Paper designed by Laurie Wilson at Doodle Pantry and adhered it to the front of the candy holder.  I then colored the sheep sitting on a horseshoe with the following Promarkers:

Horseshoe:  Sunflower, Gold
Sheep:  Blush, Satin, Pale Pink, Cool Grey 2, Cool Grey 3

I then popped the digi.  The sentiment is a digi stamp from Doodle Pantry.

Thanks for visiting and we hope you send your friends our way!  Have a good Sunday.  Make sure you visit the Doodle Pantry website - you'll be glad you did!!  Until another day,  God Bless You!  Donna

Thank You To My Val-Pal

Jacob, Donna's son, sent me a valentine.  The special thing about it, he bought me a gift certificate from Michael's with his own money.  On the inside he wrote, "Will you be my Val-Pal?  I love you."  Is that not cool?  Made my heart sing.  I made this card for him.  It's a very simple card but I think he will like it.

I cut the robot from the Robotz cartridge I got at Michael's for $9.99.  Then adhered it to foil paper.  The sentiment is computer generated.  It says, "Earthling, what you did was special.  Thank You."

Thanks for visiting today.  Have a happy weekend.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

BEST OF LUCK - Doodle Pantry Digi Stamp

Hi Everyone - HAPPY FRIDAY!!  I made this card using one of the new digi stamps drawn by Laurie Wilson over at www.doodlepantry.com.  I'm a guest designer for Doodle Pantry this month and I must say that I've totally enjoyed myself.  I love all of Laurie's images so please go take a look around her store.  I guarantee you will find something that you can't live without!

For my card, I used Cricut Design Studio and using the Designer's Calendar cartridge, I welded two clover images together in order to make it into a card.  I cut the card at 6 1/2 x 5 1/2.  I then cut two smaller clovers in patterned paper.  I colored the digi using the following Promarkers:

Clover - Pine, Forest Green, Pear Green
Ant - Walnut, Cocoa

I popped the digi to make it show up more dimensional.  The sentiment "Best of Luck" is also from Doodle Pantry.

Thank you for visiting our blog and we hope you'll come again tomorrow.  We love visitors and we love comments.  Have a good day, a good weekend, and a Happy President's Day!  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

Stacy at Love That Bug. When we were first setting up our blog and getting started, Stacy voluntarily made us a button for our followers to grab and post on their blogs.  She didn't have to do this but this just shows how thoughtful and special she is.  Thank you, Stacy.

Joy at Purtty PaperzWhenever we post anything on the Cricut Message Board, Joy always leaves an encouraging message to us.  She is extremely talented and posts some of the loveliest cards.

VALENTINE GIFTS - HOW TO INSTRUCTIONS

Hi Everyone - I recently received the February issue of the CARDS magazine.  One of the articles showed how to make paper roses so I thought I would try to make a few flowers to go on some Valentine's gifts for Jacob's teachers.

1.  Cut 8 - 8 petal flowers at 3" using the Bloom Cricut Lite Cartridge.

2.  I cut the flowers according to the instruction in the book - an example of all the cut flowers is shown.  The first flower was cut between the middle of two petals to the middle of the flower.

3.  I then glued all the flowers together

4.  Once the flowers had dried, I snipped the point on the bottom of each flower.

5.  Then starting with the biggest flower, paste the flowers, one on top of the other.

I then cut hearts at 4" from the Love Struck Cartridge and adhered them to the front of the bag.  I stamped the sentiment and adhered to the bag and attached another flower.

I covered Hershey Nuggets with 3" strips of paper and put them in 3" cellophane bag. I cut labels at 4" and 3 1/2" with the Preserves Cartridge and stapled the labels and bags together.

I hope Jacob's teachers enjoy their gifts as much I enjoyed making them. Thank you for visiting with us.  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

  3. On your blog page, list 5 things about yourself. Include at least one thing you enjoy about your craft.
One small request. It's not a rule, but Grace would very much appreciate a link back to her blog attached to the award badge when you display it on your site (after choosing all five of your faves). Thanks so much!

Grace has kept the requirements few and simple so that people will not feel it is a chore to accept the award. It is meant to be fun and encouraging! But since there are only five recipients each time, select them thoughtfully and carefully.

GIVE ME A LITTLE KISS!!!

Hi Everyone and Welcome to Day #2 of our Valentine Blog Hop.  I know you have enjoyed a lot of wonderful projects on your journey.  We have a wonderful sponsor, Thirty-one Gifts for the major prize.   A storage tote with embroidery will be given away by one of the stops on the hop.  I can't tell you which one so you will want to visit each blog and leave a comment on each one.  There are prizes all along the way.  Mom and I are giving away the Cindy Loo Cricut Cartridge (love it).  You must be a follower and leave a comment below.

For my project, I decided to make a card for my husband for Valentine's Day.  The inspiration for this card was the song  - Give Me A Little Kiss!!  Just typing those words makes the song start playing through my mind.

Card Recipe

I covered a 5 x 7 cardbase with black glitter paper.

I then covered the black glitter paper with Valentine Heart diecut paper.

Using the Indie Art Cartridge, I cut the lips in the following sizes:

Black Glitter - 6"
White Glitter - 5 1/2"
Red Glitter - 5"

I glued all layers together and then popped them.

I typed the sentiment then printed it in red then popped it.

I typed "Will Ya Huh?" as the sentiment for the inside.  You probably already guess that though.

I think my hubby will get a kick out of this card.  Most of the cards I give him are on the cutesy side so I think he'll really like this one!!  Thank you for participating in our hop and we hope you're enjoying your journey.  Below is the list of all the blogs you need to visit.  Be sure to come back tomorrow to see who wins the prize.  Click on the Next button to visit Jennifer and Summer at The Cricut Diaries.  God Bless You!! Since we first started talking about our Valentine Blog Hop, I've given a lot of consideration as to what I would make.  I decided to make a shadow box for my children.  This is the end result before inserting it in the shadow box.
The top photo is a picture of me and my husband when we got married.  I was 16 and he was 19.  We always said we grew up with our children because we were children when we got married.  The bottom photo was taken the Christmas before he passed in March, 2010.

Instructions for the elements included below.

Background Paper - KayandCo. Smitten Paper Stack
Red Flower
Leaves - Ashlyn's Alphabet Cricut Cartridge
Flourish - cut from White glitter paper with Ashlyn's Alphabet at 5X2.5"
Flower - Cut with Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut Cartridge from Red Glitter Paper.  Cuts are from 3.25" to 1.5" decreasing .25" each cut.  I used Key 31 for my flower.  Roll petals around round pencil to curve.
Rhinestone for the center.

My Antique Tea Cup

For my sixteenth birthday, my mother gave me a tea cup.  I thought it was pretty and have held onto it through all these years and all our moves.  This is what it looks like.  It's an antique now just like me.  LOL

When I came across this digital image from Heart Song Designs, I knew I had to make a card with it.  You can see it's not exactly like my tea cup but close enough to remind me of it.  I like how the card came out.

Card Recipe:
5X7 card
Background Paper - DCWV Ciao Bella-which means "Hello Beautiful
Digital Image from Heart Song Designs.  Click on the link to see/purchase.  Leah has some cute images and is trying to raise money for a worthy cause.

Ribbon - mine is from the Dollar bin at Michael's.
Purple ink to ink edges of circle the image is on.
Scallop circle cut at 4 in. from the Bloom Cricut Cartridge
Promarkers used to color digital image:
Cup Handles and rims - Sakura Metallic Gold Gel Pen

Thanks for looking at a bit of my history today.  Goodness, that makes me feel old.  But I'm not.  Jacob told me the last time he was here that I was like a 20 year old so I'm sticking with him.  LOL.  God Bless You All.  Peggy

Another New Doodle Pantry Digi

Hi Everyone - I made this card using a new release from the "Only God" collection by Laurie Wilson of the Doodle Pantry website.  I covered the cardbase with DCWV Black Currant paper.  I cut two scalloped ovals using A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge at 6 1/2" and 6".  I then cut the silhouette using the same cartridge at 5 1/2"  which I popped on the card.  I then print the sentiment and popped it at the bottom of the card.  I simply love all the sentiments that are offered in this collection.  Please visit Laurie's website and have a look around - I'm sure you'll find something you'll like to buy.

Thanks for visiting our blog.  Have a good day!!  God Bless You!! Donna

I Have Such A Sweet Blog Partner(Daughter)

Isn't this card lovely?  Donna sent it to me Friday in honor of her Dad's and my wedding anniversary, my first without him.

The card is special but the poem she wrote on the inside is more special.  I want to post it for you, if you will allow me.

Just as you will never
forget your one true love,
I know that Daddy is watching
over you from up above!
The love you had was
special and true,
A kind of love that
touched everyone you knew!
My heart and thoughts
are with you on what
was your wedding day,
Sending you lots of love
and hugs from far away!
Thank you for the example
of what true love should be,
A love that will never die
And will be waiting for you
when again Daddy you see!!

Thank you for allowing me to thank my wonderful daughter here.  She's a very special lady.  God Bless You!!!!!  Peggy

Hi Everyone - Mom told me that I had to give my "card recipe" for this card but there really wasn't a recipe.  I simply covered the card with DCWV Black Currant paper, tied a ribbon, and put some flowers and bling on the front.  I used a Doodle Pantry digi for the sentiment on the front.

You may get tired of hearing about my Daddy, but I sincerely hope not!  He was a VERY special man and my parents had a special kind of relationship.  The kind that most people wish for!!  My parents would have been married 51 years on February 5th and we all miss him terribly!!  Like I said, we hope you don't tire of hearing about him as we started our blog in honor of him!!

Thank you for visiting and we hope you'll come back again tomorrow!!  Leave us a comment if you see something you like!!  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

Happy Anniversary - Nettie G's Image

My sister and her husband celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary yesterday.  Her husband had a stroke in November, 2009.  He has been confined to a wheelchair since.  He can't get out and buy her a card so I try to make him one when he needs one.  He didn't ask me this year because he knew I was dealing with issues of my own anniversary without my husband.  However, I had received this image from Nettie G. for posting today, so I thought I could kill two birds with one stone.  This is the card I made.

Card Recipe:
5X6.5" card
Background Paper - KayandCo. Smitten Paper Stack
Ribbon - from Hobby Lobby
Flora Doodles Flowers - Hobby Lobby
Chalk - for background of heart to lessen intensity of white
Happy Anniversary - $1 stamp from Michaels
Promarkers Used to color digistamp

WOW!! We're Almost To 275 Followers

I would never have thought when we started our blog in July 2010 that we would have this many followers in 7 months.  Plus we have almost 21,500 visits.  We are so thankful for our followers, we are going to offer a prize to you.  This is what we're giving away.  We hope we're not breaking any Cricut rules by giving away an exclusive Cricut Circle cartridge.  However, we have no use for a dance cartridge and we would rather someone who has brought joy to us have it.

This is strictly for our followers.  So, if you're a follower or wish to become a follower, leave a message below this post ( please comment only one time).  If you have a blog, we would appreciate it if you would post it on your blog and link it back here.  Be sure to leave a way for us to contact you if you win.  We will leave this post up until Saturday at 6:00 pm. We will announce our winner on Sunday.  Please scroll down for newer posts.

Thank you for your support.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy and Donna
