You're Too Kind

I am enjoying my visit with Donna and her family.  She has to go to a seminar for a couple of days.  I'm here to pick Jacob up at school and take care of him while she's away since her husband works second shift.  Jacob and I always have a good time.

We made a few cards today.  The two I'm going to show you, we used Papercraft Inspirations downloadable paper to make them.  I made this one using a butterfly background.  I cut the big butterfly at 1 3/4' using Indie Art Cricut Cartridge.  I cut the shadow and the regular features, then ran them through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder.  I added pearls and ribbon to perk it up.

Donna made this one using a cute apple speckled paper and an embellishment that came with the Papercraft Inspirations paper.  She added brads to the sentiment.

If you like printing your own cardstock you will enjoy Papercraft Inspirations website.  If you click on the link above, it will take you there.

Thanks for visiting our blog.  It is our desire that you will find inspiration in something we do.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #124

Peggy Speaking:
Last Friday on Taylored Expressions a challenge was posted. You can see the sketch we were to use if you click on this link. Donna and I have not entered too many of these but we decided to try this one since we had so many cards we needed to do. This is my entry.

This card is for my grandson's fiance. There is a bridal shower for her this Saturday, August 21. He bowed the knee and popped the big question to her in our kitchen on Thanksgiving last year. It was so special. He said he wanted his Papaw to know he was getting married. I am so thankful Ben got to see him propose. It meant the world to us.

I used several cartridges to make this card. The background strips are from Tie The Knot - the card feature. I cut them thin so they look like labels. The scallop circles are from Mini-Monograms. Bridal Shower and the Umbrella are from Sweethearts. I put pop dots between the two circles and then pop dotted on the card too. It gives them more dimension. I then added lace, ribbon and pearl to the card and stickles to the cutouts in the background strips. I can't wait to give this to Stephanie. I hope she likes it as much as I had fun making it.  I have a cut file for the card details if anyone would like it.

Donna Speaking:
Now it's time for my card using this challenge as inspiration. It's funny how different mine and Mom's styles are sometimes. I told her the other day that she was froo-froo and I was frolic!!
For this challenge, I used paper that I printed from the Papercraft Inspirations website. I covered the base of the card and then cut three 2" wide strips of a coordinating paper. I used the Cindy Loo cartridge to cut the scalloped circles 1 3/4" and the round circles 1 1/2". I then used the (yes, you guessed it) Create a Critter cartridge to cut the penquins at 1 1/4". I made sure that her scarf matched the purple in the paper because we would not want her to be out of fashion - HA!! I pop-dotted the round circle to add dimension. I then cut a purple piece and used the snowflake Martha Stewart punch, cut a blue strip of paper, added ribbon, and bling. The sentiment is from a stamp set that I bought at Walmart. I don't know about you but it's been so hot around here that I'm ready for some snow!!

Peggy & Donna:

We hope you find inspiration from these cards. It's amazing how many different interpretations you can get from a sketch. It stretches you and causes you to grow to try new things. Be sure to visit Taylored Expressions through the link above to see the Design Team's ideas.

Thank you for visiting our blog. We can't say enough how much we enjoy your comments and how honored we are that you would choose to follow us. God Bless YOU! Peggy Until Another Day, God Bless, Donna

More Papercraft Inspirations Paper

My home group is having a birthday dinner tomorrow night for the July birthdays.  We don't do gifts, just cards.  So I needed to make two birthday cards.  I had some Papercraft Inspirations paper I had printed and decided to use it for a quick card.

For this card I just used the paper and the embellishment, added some stickles and cut a scallop circle from Cindy Loo.  It was very simple.

For the second card I used a Martha Stewart punch I had bought at Wal-Mart on 3 edges, cut a dark pink butterfly at 1 3/4 inches using blackout feature on the Indie Art Cricut Cartridge and a light pink one without a feature.  I embossed the butterfly with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder.   I inked the edges of the card with Orchid Colorbox Ink.

If you haven't looked at Papercraft Inspirations click on this link.  They have some cute free papers.

Donna and I really do appreciate your visits and comments.  If you have any suggestions as to how we can make our blog better, please let us know.  Peggy

Papercraft Inspirations

I found a website in the UK (click on this link) that offers free papers that you can print each month.  I printed several on cardstock last year but with my husband's illness, I forgot about them.  Donna and I came across them today so we decided to make some card sets.  Another neice is having a birthday so one of these sets is for her.  We hope she likes them.

The papers have several different designs, buttons, borders, etc.  We added 3D stickers, stickles and bling.  We popped some of elements to give dimension. We had a blast making these and hope you will visit Papercraft Inspirations and see what they have to offer.

This is what our workspace looked like when we finished.  We did not have enough room in my "Woman Cave" so we had to move to the dining room.  Peggy and Donna
