Christmas Card - Week #3

This is the 3rd week for making cards on the FaceBook Group, Only Christmas Cards/Projects.  That's their challenge for this group.  You can still join and catch up.  It will take some of the frustration away from getting my Christmas cards ready if I make one a week.

I made this card from three files from the "Winter Wonderland" Cricut cartridge.  When I opened these files in DS, I decided I didn't want to cut all of the different pieces that were included in these files.  I made 3 different sizes of the tree, increased the snowflake background to the size I wanted it, and chose a sentiment for the front. After that, I highlighted each file, then chose flatten.  That made each one a print then cut file.  This is the file for my card if you want to make one.  The card base is also included which I embossed with an Anna Griffin Christmas Cuttlebug folder.

After printing and cutting all pieces of the card, I put it together with foam adhesives so it would have dimension.  I added stickles to the stars and the sentiment.  Let me know how your card turns out.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  Please let me know how you're enjoying these cards.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Mod Squad Challenge - Masculine Birthday

It's my day to post at the Mod Squad Challenge.  I got to choose the theme.  Since I have two brothers with birthdays in January I chose Masculine Birthday.  A lot of us crafters have trouble with masculine cards so I thought this would be good practice for us.

Our Sponsor is Sparkle N Sprinkle

Be sure to check them out, their stamps are made in Florida and they make their own awesome glitter!

My Cards

I made these two cards using this cute digi, Happy-Digital Stamp Set 595. It has a sentiment with it that says, "Cruisin' in to wish you a Happy Day."  The first is a swing card made using a Cricut Design Space file and paper from my stash.  I got inspiration for the second on Pinterest.  Be sure to go to Sparkle N Sprinkle and look at all the products they have for your inspiration.

I hope you will join us for this challenge.  I will be looking for your entries. Thanks for visiting today.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

My Last Valentine

As promised, this will be the last valentine I will post with AG 'All Hearts' cutting and embossing folders.  I have had a fun time with them.  The cards were super easy to make.  The hardest part was choosing the paper.

I used scraps from the card yesterday to make this one.  I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Pink and Purple Valentine

Over the next couple of days I would like to share 2 more valentines made with AG 'All Hearts' Cutting and Embossing Dies.  I have really enjoyed these dies.  I think they would be pretty on other cards, wedding, anniversary, Mother's Day, etc.  If you have them, let me see some of your creations.

I created this card base with something else in mind but nothing would work out with this color combination.  When I was on the verge of throwing it away, I tried the hearts.  I like the way it came out.  The card base and the envelope came from the AG Flourish Cards and Embellishments cartridge....

Thank you for dropping by today.  I really appreciate your comments.  God Bless You!!!! Peggy

Digistamps4Joy New Release Sunday

Today marks a new release Sunday at DigiStamps4Joy.  Margy ask us a while back what kind of digis we would like to see.  I have searched for a digi of a maltese dog for a long time.  I could find all kinds of dogs but no maltese.  So I suggested a maltese digi.  Much to my surprise, she created a male and female maltese digi.  It's not my time to post in the new releases (I'm on Team B and we alternate with Team A) but when I saw the digis I had to make something.  Barney looks just like my Max.  This is Max's Valentine he will be sending this year.

I used a background file from the Anna Griffin' Lace Cards and Embellishments cartridge.  I changed the layers to print instead of cut.  I uploaded the digi into Cricut Design Space and added him to the front of the hearts background.  I attached the digi to the background in Design Space, then printed it and cut it.  I'm loving Design Space the more I use it.  After printing, I colored the little dog with Prismacolor pencils and attached it to a red card.  The label is one I made using another DS file.  Love how easy this was.

These are 3 of the digis being released at DS4J today.  I hope you will join us for this realese.

Thank you for joining us today.  Please let us hear from you.  What would you like to see?  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Valentine w/All Hearts Cutting Dies

I have another Valentine for you today using Anna Griffin's 'All Hearts' cutting & embossing dies.  These hearts turn out so pretty you can't help but use them.

The background diecut is another Anna Griffin die I used a long time ago.  I didn't have a use for it at the time so I just put it in my stash.  Lo and behold it is perfect for this card.  Funny how that works out.

I appreciate your visit.  We love to hear from you.  God Bless You!!  Peggy

Why Am I Making Valentine Cards?

I don't normally make Valentine cards since my husband passed away.  However, I got the Anna Griffin "All Heart" Cut and Emboss Cuttlebug Dies in the mail a short time back and I started playing with them yesterday.  They cut such pretty hearts, ribbon and lattice I just had to make something.  Here's the first one I made.

The ribbon in the background could be used by itself on a card.  The heart dies come in 3 different sizes as you can see.  The Happy Valentines Day label is a file in Cricut Design Space.  Instead of cutting out of the  layers of the label, I chose to print it instead.  Very easy to make a print and cut file.  The background paper is from a stack of paper I have had for a long time.  It's called 'Smitten by KayandCo.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy

Happy Birthday, Jean!!!!

It seems I'm only getting birthday cards done so far this year.  That's okay, though.  As long as people are having birthdays, we don't have to think about making sympathy cards.

Today's card is for Donna's boss, Jean Payne.  She leads her team and the Auxiliary volunteers with love and a heart of gold.  So Donna is honoring her with a little surprise party Thursday.  I don't think she subscribes to my blog so hopefully I'm not spoiling it.

Card Base and flourish background are from Anna Griffin's Flourish Cards and Embellishments.

Christmas Card #2

This is my second Christmas card for the FaceBook Group, Only Christmas Cards/Projects.  Hopefully I will be posting at least one Christmas card a week until December 2016.

This card was made using one of the Make It Now Projects in Cricut Design Space.  Click here for access to the file.  The hardest part to making these files is choosing your paper.  This file cut both the card and the envelope.

I hope you will join us on Only Christmas Cards/Projects.  It's a fun way to get your cards done early this year.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  God Bless You!!!! Peggy

Happy Birthday, Jacob!!!

Donna's little man is turning 15 today.  Oh my, how time flies.  Upcoming driver's ed. and learner's permit.  I think I'll make him tell me when he is on the road.  LOL.  Donna brought him by Wednesday and he asked if we could have Thanksgiving meal again for his birthday.  So guess what Donna and I are preparing.

This is his birthday card from me.  I was in a hurry so I chose one of the cards from the Creative Everday Cards cartridge.  All I had to do was choose the color of paper.  Easy.  I hope he will like it.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  I always love your visits and comments.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Digistamps 4 Joy Challenge

There's a fun challenge going on right now at Digistamps 4 Joy.  The theme is always "Anything Goes".  But the twist this month is add a handmade embellishment.  It's been going on since January 1 and will last through the end of the month.  I'm on Design Team B and we post our projects on the 15th of each month.

I used another of JenLee's designs for this card.  It is called "Hi, Lil Bird."  This card is for a dear friend of mine in NC.  Her birthday was January 6th so I had to mail it before I could post it.

The background is from Anna Griffin's Flourish Cards and Embellishments Cricut cartridge.  I colored the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and shaded the background with chalk.  My handmade embellishments are the flowers, butterfly and ribbon bow.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  I enjoy hearing from you.  Be sure to take part in our challenge for this month.  There's always prizes.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Have a Yappy Birthday

I have several masculine birthdays to make in the month of January.  I'm trying to work on my attitude towards masculine cards.  They're not my favorite to make.  But I must tell you a story about 2 birthday cards I made in January, 2014.  I posted them on Pinterest and they have been repinned more than any cards I have made.  Seems like other cardmakers are looking for help with masculine cards as well as me.

This card contains a digi by a new artist, Priscilla Spiteri.  It's called Pup N Boots.  The reason I chose it is because the pup reminds me of Max, my little Maltese.  I colored it with Promarkers and made the card with some scraps from my stash.  This card is for my brother who rescued Max and gave him to me.  I borrowed the sentiment from Priscilla as well.  You can find her on FB.  Just search for her name or click here.  She is just getting started and could use the encouragement.

Thank you for visiting me today.  I love your visits and comments.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

Christmas Card for FB Group

I know, we just got over Christmas but there is a group on FB called Only Christmas Cards/Projects.  They are starting a challenge this week that everyone should post a Christmas project each week.  If I post a card each week, then I will have all my Christmas cards ready to go when time comes to mail them.  No last minute scurrying around.  So this is my first.

It is a CAS design from Anna Griffin's Christmas Cards and Embellishments Cricut cartridge.  The design is one that is drawn by the Cricut Explore.  I colored it with Prismacolor colored pencils.  Still getting used to them.  This card and envelope is a Make It Now project in Cricut Design Space.  It is ready to draw, cut and put together.  Of course, you have to color or water color the design but that makes it yours.

This is the inside sentiment I made for it using an ornament image from Design Space.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Be sure to join in with this Christmas challenge and let's be ready when Dec. 25th rolls around again.  It will be here before you know it.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

Digistamps 4 Joy Design Team

I was recently accepted to be on the design team for Digistamps4Joy.  Thank you, Margy.  Today is release day for new images and we got to make a card with one of them.  You can see all of the new releases here.

I used Lil Jill Walkies by JenLee for my card.

I colored her with Promarkers. The sentiment was created using my Cricut Explore.  I love that writing feature.  The reason I decided on this sentiment is because I thought Lil Jill looked like she was enjoying being in God's world with her puppy.  I know I
sometimes need to be reminded who is in control of my days.

Thank you for visiting me today.  I hope you will visit the Digistamps4Joy shop.  There are lots of digistamps to choose from. Also be sure to like our Facebook page to keep up with all that's happening there.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy
