A LITTLE BIRDIE SAID - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! MICKEY FONT, ALPHALICIOUS

Hi Everyone!  In the blogging world, you meet a lot of amazing people.  One person that my mom and I met through our blog was a lady named, Barbara.  Now Barbara is an incredibly talented, funny, and full of life lady.  She is having her 70th birthday this month and my mom and I were asked by another blogging friend to make her a birthday card.  Barbara’s friend was trying to get 70 cards made by her blogging friends to give to Barbara.  So of course, Mom and I were more than happy to make something special for her.

I decided to make a card using the “Holiday Bird” digi by Melissa.  I’ve had this digi for a while but had never used it.  I pulled out my Cricut Design Studio files because I remembered that I had made a file using Mickey Font and Alphalicious that would cut out numbers on side of the card.  I revised the file to cut out the number 70.

I cut out the card using my Cricut Expression and covered it with patterned paper covered in “birds” and then I popped the “Holiday Bird” digi that I colored with Promarkers to the center of the card.  I tied ribbon around the card and popped the sentiment “A little birdie said” on the front.
Here is a picture of the front

And here is a picture of the inside of the card

If you are looking for a place that has great digital images, you should visit meljensdesigns.com.  Melissa has great designs and I’m sure that you will find something you like.  Thank you for stopping by and for your comments.  We appreciate all of them!! Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna Wilson

Wanda's Class Bulletin Board

My dear friends, Dennis & Wanda, are visiting from Charlotte, NC.  Wanda teaches 3 year olds in Preschool.  She had a great idea for her bulletin board and asked me if I would help her.  She knew what she wanted to say.  All I did was use my Imagine and cut out the items.

The ice cream cones came from the Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge cut at 6 inches.  I had Sweet Treats and the Yummy Imagine Cartridge inserted in my Imagine.  I used the Yummy colors to color the Ice Cream Cone elements.

I used Cricut Craft Room to weld letters from Mickey Font together to form the words.  Then we used patterns from the Imagine cartridge All Wrapped Up to decorate them.  The welcome is from All Wrapped Up.

Wanda is going to write the children's names on the ice cream cones.  I'm sure they will love them.

Thanks for stopping by today.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Tags Bags Boxes and More 2 Easter Basket

Donna & I were talking about Easter this afternoon and she asked me if I had Max a present for Easter.  All I could say was "No".  I guess I'm a bad pet parent.  However, I got busy and made him an Easter basket.  I still have  time to shop for doggie treats.  This is his basket.

I used Tags Bags Boxes and More 2 Cricut Cartridge to cut the basket.  I cut it at 7".  It takes a 24" mat to get it all on.  It takes most of the mat but it's a pretty basket once it's folded together.  The puppy is cut from Just because cards.

This side of it has an image cut from Enjoy The Seasons Imagine Cartridge.

This image is also from Enjoy The Seasons.

This image was cut from Mickey Font Cricut Cartridge.

I hope Max will like his basket.  He will especially like the treats I'm sure.  Thank you for stopping by today.  I'm looking forward to the Easter service at church.  God's love is so amazing.  May He bless you in all you endeavor to do today.  Peggy

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, CRAIG!!!

Hi Everyone!  I haven't posted in a while!  This month is one the busiest months at my job so I've been swamped with work both night and day!

I figured that I better make a Father's Day card for my husband since Father's Day is this Sunday.  I must confess that I wasn't in the mood to make this type card because I've been really missing my Daddy!  He's been gone a little over a year now and I have many wonderful memories of what a great dad he was!!  It helps to know that I will see him again one day!!
I designed this card in Design Studio using Plantin and Mickey Font.  I welded the rectangle and the letters to form the card base.  I then cut the top of the card out of the blue paper in the DCWV Bluejean Paper.  I then cut the letters out of red and silver paper.  I used the Martha Stewart Heart Punch to punch the heart border down the side.  I pop dotted the red "Dad" on the front of the card and adhered the silver "Dad" to the inside.  I then used Word for the sentiment and then framed it with silver and red paper.

Don't forget to honor your Dad on Father's Day and make sure you tell him how special he is to you and treasure every moment.  Thanks for stopping by and we hope you'll come back again another day!  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

Wild Thing, You Make My Heart Sing

Isn't that what you think about when you look at this digistamp?  Meet Gary, the Giftbearer.  He is a product of Bonibleaux Designs Digis.  This website deals mainly in male inspired digital images.  Gary was offered on Crafters Digital Art Center's Color Challenge.  To enter, we had to create a card with Gary using turquoise, green, rust and grey.  This is my rendition.

I created my card background using the above colors.  The brads on the side strip coincidentally already had those colors on them.

These are the Promarker colors I used on Gary, the Giftbeater.
Shirt - Honeycomb and Spice
Skin - Satin and Dusky Pink
Hat - Midnight Blue and Cool Grey 2
Pants - Duck Egg and Turquoise
Shoes - Cool Grey 5
Gift - Olive and Pine
Flowers - Leaf Green, Baby Pink, Red, Canary and Purple
After mounting him on a label cut from Lacy Labels (it is the All Boy base cut) the white background seemed too stark, so I applied green chalk to tone it down and help it to blend in.

The inside of the card is decorated using the following cartridges.
Frames - Lyrical Letters - 5X6.5 and 4.75X6.25
Hearts - Love Struck
Wording - Mickey Font, Locker Talk and Paper Lace

I hope you enjoyed meeting Gary today.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come again tomorrow.  God Belss You!!  Peggy

4th Grade Classroom Door

Hey Everyone - I hope you all are having a wonderful Labor Day. I spent the weekend with my mom celebrating her birthday which is TODAY!!! So everyone wish Mom a Happy Birthday!!! Happy Birthday, Mom - I love you bunches!!!! I told her that everyone in the U.S. was getting the day off just to celebrate her birthday - HA!!!

Now on to our project for the day - Jacob's teacher asked for volunteers to decorate her door to the classroom each month this year. Well, you know I had to volunteer as that's right up my alley! She said she wanted a rocket/space theme to go along with what they are teaching in class right now. The picture below is what I came up with.

I used the following cartridges to create the images:

Just Because Cards - Rocket - cut at 24"
Zooballoo - cut out clouds and inked them to make them look like smoke balls coming out of
the rocket.
Plantin - Stars
Plantin - Scalloped Border with Stars - I used Design Studio to place a star inside the scallop
border and cut at 22"
Mickey Font - Words - cut at 3 3/4"

You'll be seeing a new door design each month this year. Next month's theme is going to be a football/teamwork theme. I've already got an idea for what I'll do for that - gotta stay ahead of the ballgame you know. Well, thank you for stopping by and we hope you'll come again soon!! Until another day, God Bless!! TaeKwonDo Scrapbook

Hi Everyone! My son has been taking TaeKwonDo since April of 2009. He will test this weekend for his L3 Brown Belt and then he'll only have three levels of red belts to work through before he can test for his black belt. My how time flies!! I started a scrapbook for Jacob so that he could look back on all the progress he has made in his sport and I must say that this is the only scrapbook that I have kept up to date (shame, shame on me)!

I have used many cartridges throughout this scrapbook but one of my favorites is the Sports Mania cartridge. The man kicking on the front page of the scrapbook is just one of the items that I cut with this cartridge. On another layout below, you will notice that some of the TaeKwonDo Tenants are cut out in Chinese and in English. Again, Sports Mania - YEA!! Other cartridges that were used on these layouts were Opposites Attract, Stamping, Indie Art, Lyrical Letters, and Mickey Font just to name a few.

I hope you enjoy the pictures of these layouts. Thanks for stopping by!! Mom and I hope you'll come again tomorrow for another visit. Until another day, God Bless! Donna

Birthday Card for the Hubby

Hey Everyone - This was the year that my hubby turned 50!!  Well, you know that I had to make sure that his card reminded him of that fact over and over.  I created a cut file in Design Studio to weld the numbers from the Mickey Font cartridge to the card and cut "happy b-day" from the same cartridge then covered the card in glittered black paper from DCWV.

Well, needless to say, he liked the card but he didn't like the reminder - HA!!!  Until another day, God bless!  Donna
