Oh Happy Day Snowman - Promarkers

Happy New Year's Eve, Everyone!! My mom gave me a wonderful surprise for Christmas this year! She gave me a bunch of LETRASET PROMARKERS!!! I squealed when I opened the package!! My husband said that he had never seen anyone get so excited over markers!! My mom could not have given me anything that I could have wanted more!!!! Thanks so much, MOM!!!!!

I colored this card with my new Promarkers using a free digi from Little Scraps. This snowman looks as happy as I was when I opened my present - tee-hee!! All papers on the card were scraps left over from other cards that I've made recently!! The scalloped circle was cut using a Spellbinders die.

I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year and that you'll come back to visit us in 2011. We'll see you next year - God Bless You!! Donna

Our Family - 2011 Desk-Top Calendar

A while ago we showed you the desk top calendar Donna made us for Grandparent's Day.  She did this for several years and used All My Memories calendar to make it.  Apparently, they quit making it because we haven't been able to find one anywhere.

While at Donna's this week, we decided we could make it ourselves.  This is our end product.
This is how we made it:

The base (this is what keep the calendar upright) measures 16.5 X 9.5.  If you can find stiff paper that length, score at 8.25" then score
11/2" on each side of this score line.  Fold on score lines to form stand for desk.  We didn't have paper we felt was strong enough so we improvised.  This is the paper we used.  It is good for making book covers.  It is available at Michael's and they put it on sale periodically.

We cut two strips, one at 9.75 X 9.5 and another at 7.75 X 9.5.  On the longer strip score at 6.75 and again at 8.25.  Fold on score lines so as to make a peak.  On the shorter strip, score at 6.75 and fold.  Adhere the two short ends together.  It should look like this.

This is the paper we used for the inner pages.  You can use quality cardstock but this is stronger.

Donna is a whiz at WORD so she created our monthly calendars in it.  The pages are 9.5 X 6.5.

We then set about binding it with a Bind-it-all.  This is such an amazing machine to be so little.

We selected our pictures and began working on the backgrounds for them.  We would like to share some of the pages with you.  We will put cartridges used with them.
This paper is a brocade type with the corners punched with a Stamping Up punch.

This background is Paper Lace, page 25-Base Flower and Base Shadow cut at 5".

This was cut with Paper Lace-page 24-Quilt1 and Base Shadow cut at 5 1/4".
This is one of my favorite pages.  The background is cut from Lacy Labels - Flower 2 at 5".

We have so many pictures on this one we didn't have room for any cuts.  Most of these were made at Christopher and Stephanie's wedding.  The one over October is one of my precious late husband and our two wonderful children.

And just to show you the calendar is still standing at the end of the year, here is December.  The background was cut with Trim A Tree Ornament at 5.5".

I know this has been an extra long post and we're so glad you are here to see our project.  I hope you will try this.  God Bless You!!! Peggy & Donna

Tag/Gift Card Holders from Toilet Tissue Rolls.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that the Lord is more real to you now than He was before.  Christmas is a wonderful time of the year.  I'm thankful for my family and friends and all our blogging buddies.  You all are great.

We saw this project on Enfys Cashmore's blog "Going Buggy".  Donna needed a quick gift card holder so she made these in a very short time.
They are made by running toilet paper rolls through your Cuttlebug to flatten them.  Once you have them flattened, cover them with patterned paper.  Hers were decorated for Christmas but you could use these for any occasion year round.  She punched a hole in one end and inserted a jump ring.  You can put as many as you want on the jump ring but she only used two.  Another way you could put some of these together is to bind them with a Bind-it-all or another binding machine.

Next she made two tags using Plantin cartridge and decorated them.  She tied a ribbon pull through the ends of them, attached the gift card to one of them and then inserted them inside the covered tissue rolls.  I love the way she decorated the outsides of them.  She added ribbon to the jump ring.

You're probably wondering why I'm writing this post.  She is putting Jacob to bed.  We have had fun this week.  I don't know if I'll be able to get out of bed in the morning though.  Jacob and I have been playing Star Wars.  Isn't that a picture to torture your mind?  LOL!
What we don't do for our grandchildren.

Thank you  for your continued support.  We're so glad you're here.  By the way, this is not the "big" project she mentioned yesterday.  We're still working on it.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy

Jacob's First White Christmas

Hello Everyone!! We hope that you had a very Merry Christmas!!

Do you remember that I told you Jacob had been praying for snow? Well, this year he celebrated his first white Christmas. We received a little over 4" of snow on Christmas Day! Here is a picture of Jacob outside playing in the snow that he prayed for and received!! It was positively beautiful!! My daddy always wanted a white Christmas!! Mom and I say that Daddy made sure that we all had one this year because it snowed everywhere our family is - Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and New York!! Now how's that for a miracle!!

We hope you have a good day! Mom and I are busy working on a "big" project that we hope to post tomorrow. Until another day, God Bless!! Donna and Peggy

Winter Wreath-Nettie G's Challenge

Hi Everyone,  Merry Christmas Eve.  I hope you all are ready for Christmas.  Can you believe it is here.  Jacob is excited about Santa coming.  I don't know who's more excited him or Donna.  She's just a big kid when it comes to Christmas.

This card is the next phase of Nettie G's progressive challenge.  If you competed in the last phase, you will be sent this digital image to enter this phase.  You can go to Nettie G's Challenge Blog to see what the design team came up with.

For my card, I colored the wreath blue.  I cut snowflakes from glitter paper using the Lacy Labels cartridge.  I added them to the wreath along with some stars and blue bling.  The digi has a bow at the bottom of the wreath which I colored silver.  However, I decided a real bow would add more to the card.  Notice the stickles  added to the window to make it look like it had ice on it.  I cut the window frame from Christmas cartridge.  It has a curved bottom on it but I cut it off so as to have a straight bottom on my window.  I cut two of these and layered them with adhesive strips to give it depth.  The background paper is KandCo. Blue Awning.  I wanted the background to look like wallpaper.

I didn't choose traditional Christmas colors because I thought this is a wreath you could leave hanging through out the winter months.  January and February both have lots of snow.

Thank you very much for visiting us on Christmas Eve.  I hope you all have a Blessed Merry Christmas.  Remember the true meaning of Christmas.  God Bless You!!!!!! Peggy

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE EVE

Good Morning Dear Friends. What a busy time of the year. I was traveling to Donna's yesterday and did not get anything made for the blog. I do want to tell you how much we appreciate you being a follower of our blog. You have made the last 6 months so special to us. When we started this blog, we had no idea we would have 253 followers at the end of the year. We are so thankful for you.

Donna is such a kid at heart when it comes to Christmas. She starts about 5 days before Christmas wishing me Merry Christmas Eve Eve Eve Eve. Everyday it comes down one Eve. So I decided to wish you Merry Christmas Eve Eve today.

We wish you the best Christmas you've ever had. May God's blessings abound on you and your family this holiday season. Thanks for making our lives special. Peggy

Thanks Snow Much

Hi Everyone!! - I've had an assembly line going making thank you cards for Christmas gifts I received from some of my volunteers. I covered the top of the card using a piece of star glitter paper that I bought at Michael's on clearance for 49 cents. Then I used a blue piece of shimmer paper for the bottom of the card that I embossed using the snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder. I cut a strip of cream colored cardstock and used the Snowflake Martha Stewart punch to create the border.

I printed the sentiment on light blue cardstock. I used two sizes of Nestabilities along with my Cuttlebug to cut out the sentiment circles. I layered them and then pop dotted them on the left side of the card. I purchased these Nestabilities at Hobby Lobby off the clearance aisle. I have wanted some of these for a long time and finally broke down and got some for myself. I must say "I'm glad I did!!"

I hope you found some inspiration from this card - I made a lot of cards in a short amount of time by making all of them the same.

Well, I'm excited to say that my Mom is coming to see us this week to hopefully stay for a long time!! Jacob is so excited - he keeps asking what day she's coming and then he'll ask - now what day is today?? That boy loves his Mamaw bunches!! This Christmas will be our first Christmas without my Dad and everyone in our family is missing him terribly. Daddy's favorite time of the year was Christmas - Jacob always said Papaw was a "Christmas Nut!" Daddy always had to have his Christmas decorations up first and my parents house was the prettiest house in the neighborhood!! Jacob asked me the other day - "Mommy, do you think that Papaw will be going to Jesus' birthday party in Heaven?" I told him that I was sure that Papaw would be there and would be having a great big piece of cake!! Oh, the innocence of a child!!

I hope you all are enjoying your holiday season and I wish you a very Merry Christmas!! Thank you for visiting with us and allowing me to ramble on. We appreciate your visits and your comments. Until another day, God Bless You!! (P.S. Merry Christmas Eve, Eve, Eve) Donna

My Gift For You - Trim A Tree

Good Morning, Everyone! I made this card to send to my Secret Santa couple along with the gift bags I decorated. I covered this card with Christmas paper. I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the border. I used the Trim A Tree cartridge to cut the package at 3". I printed the sentiment and pop dotted it on the card.

Thanks for visiting and we hope you'll come back again soon. Have a good day and God Bless!! Donna

Picture Inspired Card-Crafty Creations.

Over on Crafty Creations Challenge Blog this week they're having a picture inspired challenge. This is the picture. Click on their name and see the inspired cards of their design team.

This is what I was inspired to create. It's a 5" X 6.5" card. I covered the card base with pink cardstock. After coloring the image I cut a white frame from the French Manor cartridge. The frame I cut is the same dimensions as my card. I adhered it to the pink cardstock. Then I cut another frame from white glitter paper. I wove a pink ribbon around it and tied a bow at the top. I then attached the glitter frame with 1/8" thick "Sticky Strips." That gave it depth and dimension. I think this picture would fit perfectly in that bedroom, don't you?

Thank you for visiting us today. We love having you and your comments. If there is something you would like to see us do, let us know. God Bless You!!!!!! Peggy

Madonna and Child

I thoroughly enjoyed coloring this image from NettieG.  This is the second challenge of NettieG's Challenge Blog.  I hope you will go to her blog site and join us in this week's challenge.  If you participated last week, then this image was sent to you free.

The paper I used is The Paper Studio Pearlized Cardstock.  I embossed it with one of the Heritage Cuddlebug Folders.  I colored the image with Promarkers.  These are the colors I used.
Madonna
Plum
Amethyst
Orchid

Baby
Denim Blue
Powder Blue

Faces
Dusky Pink
Cinnamon
Coral

After completing the image, I cut an oval, using George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge, at 2 5/8"X 3 5/8".  It fit perfectly in the oval of the Heritage embossing.  I used it as my guide to cut the Madonna and Child to fit on the card.  I added blue gemstones and the sentiment.  The sentiment is another digistamp from Doodle Pantry.  I hope you enjoy seeing this card as much as I did making it.

Thank you for stopping by today.  We are so thankful for all of you.  We know this is a tremendously busy time of year.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

Holiday Gift Bags - Decorated Using Cricut Cartridges

Hi Everyone! For our recent blog hop, the participants had a Secret Santa event where we made something for one of the blog members. I decorated gift bags  using various Cricut Cartridges for my blogging friends Jill and Bobby Hardgrove, the Cricut Couple.

On this first bag I used Snowman Friends to cut out the snowman and Very Merry Tags for the snowflake and the gift tag. I punched the edges of the mat with the Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch.

The next bag I used the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder and the Very Merry Tags cartridge to cut out the snowflake and the tag. I punched around the paper with the Martha Stewart Snowflake Punches.

The next bag may be my favorite - I used the George cartridge to cut out three different size round squares to form Santa's belt buckle and then I just put a strip of black paper across the bag to make it look like a belt. I cut the Santa tag from Very Merry Tags. I used Stickles on Santa's hat to make it sparkle and chalk on his cheeks to make them rosy!!

Now for the last bag - I simply cut the HOHOHO out using the Very Merry Tags and pop dotted it and used the same cartridge for the tag.
I had so much fun making these bags. I hope the person that received them will love them as much as I did. Thank you for visiting our blog and we hope you found some inspiration today. We hope you'll come back soon and we love to read your comments. Until another day, God Bless You! Donna

Thank You - Paper Lace

Hi Everyone! Well, my mom enabled me into buying the new Paper Lace Cricut Cartridge and I must say that I absolutely LOVE IT as much as my mom does!! There are so many things that you can cut with this cartridge and in so many different ways. Way to go Provocraft!!!

I used paper from the 6 x 6 stack of DCWV Linen Closet to cover the card base. I cut the Thank You shadow and cut out at 3". The ribbon was bought at Michael's for 1.00. Love those $1.00 bins.

Thank you for visiting and we hope you'll visit again soon. Until another day, God bless you! Donna

Fabulous ornaments. Thanks for sharing and the chance to win. I am a follower.

Trisha, congratulations.  I will be in touch with you.  Thank you, everybody that visited us during this blog hop and for playing along with us.  We have had a ball.  Like I said before, there is a rumor going around that we will be doing this again in a couple of months.  Please check back with us frequently.  God Bless You !!!! Peggy and Donna

Please scroll down for my latest post.

A Time For Joy-Mojo Monday

First of all, I want to say welcome to all of our followers.  Our blog hop was so much fun.  I hope you all enjoyed seeing everyone's creations.  There were some wonderfully talented people in it.  Also, there is a rumor going around that we will be doing another one sometime in the next few months.  I'm just saying.  Thank you Melissa and Bobby and Jill for all your efforts organizing the hop.  It went so smoothly.  You are great.

Mondays are a time for the Mojo Monday Challenge.  You can find the requirements on their website.  I've never participated in this challenge but I thought, Why Not?  Donna is iced in at her house with a sick boy so I don't know if she'll get to play or not.  She's been busy cutting Snowflakes for the students in Jacob's room to put together at their Christmas party Friday.

Back to the challenge.  There is a sketch you need to follow to participate.  I had some paper I wanted to use so I changed the layout a little.  I understand that's allowed.  This is a 5X7 card.  The paper is KandCo. "Let It Snow".  It has some really pretty paper in it.  Apparently, I thought a lot of Christmas paper was pretty because I now have 4 stacks of Christmas paper.  Do you think I might be OCD?????  LOL  All my cuts were made with the Let It Snow paper stack.  There is a tutorial on our blog on how to make the pinwheel.  Just click here.  I hope you enjoy making one.  They're very easy.  The sentiment is a digistamp from Create With TLC.

Thank you all for visiting and for following.  We love your comments.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

All That Glitters Blog Hop-Welcome Back-Last Day

Welcome to Daily Grace Creations, our little corner of the blogosphere, and the All That Glitters Blog Hop! If you've come here from The Cricut Diaries wonderful blog you're in the right place! If you've just happened across our blog and would like to play along with our fun hop, you can go to A Place For My Cards and start at the beginning.

With the holidays fast approaching we are sharing some wonderful ideas and inspiration for your viewing and crafting pleasure! Each  designer will be featuring an original project(s) made especially for this hop. Make sure to check out each designer's blog. There will be prizes along the way so you don't want to miss anyone.

Donna and I have created several things we would like to share with you.  Before we do though, we should tell you we cut our projects from glitter paper rather than try to apply glitter to each piece individually.  Is that cheating?

We made several ornaments.  The first is a Snowflake from the Joys of the Season Cartridge.  We cut 2 of the Flake3 at 5.325"X6.0".  Then cut Flake4 at 5.181"X4.738.  We layered Flake4 between the 2 Flake3s.  I made a flower from metallic ribbon and adhered it to the outside and glued a Paper Studio gemstone to the center.  We then tied ribbon through a hole in the snowflake to hang it on the tree.
The next ornament is a cross from the Wedding cartridge.  We cut two of these at 4"X6".  Be sure to flip one of these so the designs will line up.  Again they are cut from white metallic paper purchased at Michaels.  After cutting them, we glued them together and added pearls on each side.  I'm not sure if you can see the pearls or not but they're there.
Our angel is cut from the Christmas cartridge at 6".  We cut 2 with the regular feature from white glitter paper.  Again be sure to flip one cut.  We then cut 2 using the blackout feature from gold glitter paper.  We glued all of these together then attached ribbon for hanging.

The JOY is cut at 3 1/2" using the alphabet on the Cindy Loo cartridge.  We welded the letters together in Design Studio.  We cut a shadow of the joy from red glitter paper and adhered it to the back.  We then added red gemstones and ribbon.

Last but not least is our wreath cut from the Joys of the Season cartridge.  We used a 24" mat and the fit to page feature on the cricut.  It measures 12.442"X11.636".  We cut it from green glitter paper, adhered it to a circle of green shimmer paper, then wove ribbon through it and attached a bow.  The ribbon was some we picked up at Michaels or Joann's.  This is probably too big to hang on a tree but it would be cute on a wall.
So, on to our blog candy! We are giving away a set of note cards made with the new Paper Lace cartridge.

Winning this prize is easy! All it takes is 2 easy steps...

1) Become a follower (if you're not already).

Nettie G's Challenge Blog

I have been invited to be a member of the Design Team of NettieG's Challenge Blog.  This is a new group and we're having our first challenge today.  Please visit the link above and join us in this challenge.  You will get a free image to create a card with.  The details of the challenge are on the blog.
This is the card I made with the image.  The title of the image is "Sewing Tree".  It brought back memories of when I sewed all mine and Donna's clothes.  I colored the tree with Promarkers and glitter gel pens.  I cut out buttons using the Paisley cartridge for the round ones.  I used Design Studio and MiniMonograms to create the square ones.  The frame is from Ashlyn's Alphabet.  I cut 2 and inserted adhesive strips between them to give it dimension.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Thank you for stopping by.  Don't forget the All That Glitters Blog Hop that begins tomorrow at 7 am.  God Bless You !!! Peggy

Celebrate With Flourish And Color Challenge

This little card was made to enter Color Challenge 12 at Crafters Digital Art Center (CDAC).  They have several challenges every month.  The sponsoring designer offers a free digital image for you to use in your creation.  This little owl was the image to be used with the colors brown, red and cream.  I love mixing digital images with Cricut cuts.
After coloring the image, I cut two 12" strips of paper and edge punched them.  Determine what size you want your flower and cut your strips half that size.  I then created the pleated flower.  I used the owl as the embellishment on the flower.  The Merry Christmas was cut from Celebrate With Flourish.  I punched the brown background paper with the same punch as the flower and inked the edges of the red BG paper with brown.

Thank you for visiting our blog today.  I hope you will come back soon.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

A Special Award From Crafters Digital Art Center & A New Card

Remember this little guy?  I entered him in a Color Challenge at Crafters Digital Art Center.  This is the award the Dream Team gave to me.  I was shocked.
Yesterday I told you I had a productive day at crafting.  This is another card I made for a challenge at CDAC.  Several artists provided free digital images that can be used in Freebie Challenge 12.  I chose this one from Nettie G's Digital Gems.  She has started a new group on CDAC and asked me to be part of her design team.  I am honored and hope I can live up to her expectations.  This scene reminded me of a country Christmas.  The image had a ribbon drawn around the fence.  I colored it, then thought a real ribbon might add a lot of dimension.  I had this ribbon left from a gift Donna gave me for Grandparents' Day.  The background paper is DCWV Jean Paper Stack.  Donna and I shared that stack. (We do that a lot)  I got lots of comments on it and it was featured on the Gallery.

Thank you for stopping by.  Don't forget about the blog hop Saturday Dec. 11.  God Bless You.  Peggy

Red & White Card for 2 Challenges

I had a very productive day crafting today.  I made several cards and entered several challenges.  Can you believe I said I made several cards?  It usually takes me 2 days to make one card.  It could have had something to do with me getting up at 4:30 am.

I made this card and entered it in 2 challenges, Doodle Pantry Blog and The Corrosive Challenge Blog.  Doodle Pantry's requirement is to use a Doodle Pantry digistamp.  The Corrosive Challenge Blog's challenge is to create a red and white Christmas card.  So I combined the two.  The presents on this card are from Santa's Accessories, one of the newer releases from DP.  There are several items in this set.  The sentiment is also Doodle Pantry.

I used a MS Punch All Over The Page punch to make the 4 square tiles and lined them with red foil paper.  I think it meets all the qualifications of the challenges.

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope to see you back tomorrow and for our blog hop Saturday.  God Bless You!!! Peggy
