My sister and her husband celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary yesterday. Her husband had a stroke in November, 2009. He has been confined to a wheelchair since. He can't get out and buy her a card so I try to make him one when he needs one. He didn't ask me this year because he knew I was dealing with issues of my own anniversary without my husband. However, I had received this image from Nettie G. for posting today, so I thought I could kill two birds with one stone. This is the card I made.
Card Recipe:
5X6.5" card
Background Paper - KayandCo. Smitten Paper Stack
Ribbon - from Hobby Lobby
Flora Doodles Flowers - Hobby Lobby
Chalk - for background of heart to lessen intensity of white
Happy Anniversary - $1 stamp from Michaels
Promarkers Used to color digistamp
Heart - Black, Rose Pink, Cerise
This is the inside of the card. I signed the card for Charles.

WOW!! We're Almost To 275 Followers
I would never have thought when we started our blog in July 2010 that we would have this many followers in 7 months. Plus we have almost 21,500 visits. We are so thankful for our followers, we are going to offer a prize to you. This is what we're giving away. We hope we're not breaking any Cricut rules by giving away an exclusive Cricut Circle cartridge. However, we have no use for a dance cartridge and we would rather someone who has brought joy to us have it.
This is strictly for our followers. So, if you're a follower or wish to become a follower, leave a message below this post ( please comment only one time). If you have a blog, we would appreciate it if you would post it on your blog and link it back here. Be sure to leave a way for us to contact you if you win. We will leave this post up until Saturday at 6:00 pm. We will announce our winner on Sunday. Please scroll down for newer posts.

I've Been Chosen As A Doodle Pantry Guest Designer for February
I received an email from Laurie Wilson at Doodle Pantry DigiStamps saying I had been chosen to be guest designer for February. Jacob thought there was something wrong with me because I started squealing as I was reading the email. Needless to say, I feel so honored to have this opportunity. I'm a huge fan of Laurie's digital stamps and have made many cards using her designs. On February 5, a new challenge will start on Laurie's blog. If you've been wanting to try digital stamps, this is your opportunity and Laurie's blog is a very good place to start.
For my first post in February, I chose Laurie's Clover Patch Ants. I thought the little ants were so cute and I loved the saying about friends because true friends are hard to find.
My card is 7"X 6.5" using Provocraft Design Studio to cut the card base with my Cricut Expression and the cartridge, A Child's Year. I colored Laurie's image using Promarkers:
Ants - Cocoa, Tan, Red
Clover and Grass - Pine, Forest Green, Leaf Green
Thanks for visiting our blog. Please tell your friends about us. Now go over to Laurie's blog and become a member and enter her challenge. Until another day, God Bless You!!! Donna

Thank You Cards - Paper Lace
Hi Everyone!! I'm happy to report that Jacob is feeling better and back at school. I actually found a few minutes to make some simple Thank You cards using that wonderful cartridge, Paper Lace! I'm trying to teach my son a little etiquette and to be appreciative when someone gives you a gift by sending them a Thank You note. So I made him some cards to send to his Mamaw (my Mom whom he loves more than me but that's okay), his Aunt and Uncle, one of his cousins, and my boss. I made all the cards similar but different.

Background paper measures 4" x 5 1/2"
Paper Lace Thank You Shadow - cut at 3"
Paper Lace Thank You - cut at 3"
Ribbon to match
These cards are not all that fancy but the main point was the life lesson for Jacob. He wrote a personal note in all the cards and signed his name. He worked really hard on making sure that he had neat handwriting so everyone could read what he wrote. He typically has awful handwriting. I told him he must be destined to be a doctor.
