HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY, TANNER!!! - Sports Mania

Hi Everyone!

Today is the birthday of the son of one of my best friends!  I was at the hospital when Stacy had him and have watched him grow from a little baby into a kind, considerate, respectful, and handsome young man!!    He was five when Jacob was born and he's always taken care of Jacob and watched out for him.  He's such a sweetie!!  Today is Tanner Lee's 16th birthday!!

Tanner loves baseball and plays on his school's team as a pitcher.  So of course, I had to make him a baseball card!   I tried to use my new downloaded Cricut Craftroom, but I couldn't get it to work (Mama's gonna have to come fix it for me - she's Ms. Computer Techy Woman).

I used the Sports Mania Cartridge and cut the baseball frame at 5".   Then I flipped the baseball frame and cut out one for the back of the card.  I adhered both to red cardstock.  I then covered the inside of the card with white cardstock, then red cardstock.  The sentiments, "Have a ball....on your Big 16th Birthday!," were created in Word!

I think Tanner will like his card.  Last year, I got his birthday mixed up with another one of my September birthday people and called him a week ahead of time and sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him on his way to school.  He, his mom, and his brother, Parker, just laughed.  Then Tanner, being the diplomatic person he is said,  "Well, Donna, at least you can say, you were the first to wish me Happy Birthday this year!"  Told you he was sweet!!

Just Running By - Sports Mania

Hi Everyone - One of my best friend's sons is having a birthday on Monday.  He's turning 15!  He has always been such a good friend to Jacob.  He has grown into such an intelligent, respectful young man.  He runs cross country track so I used the Sports Mania cartridge and Design Studio to make him this card in his school colors.

In Design Studio, I merged two tracks together (flipping one image) to form the card to measure 5 x 10.  I then cut out a male runner and adhered it to the front.  I cut out the border of three runners and put them inside the card.  I used Word to generate the sentiment.

Basketball Card for Braden - Sports Mania

I have a wonderful friend, Sherry, who has a son who's birthday is TODAY which is two days before Jacob's birthday.  Braden and Jacob are 3 years and 2 days apart in age.  Sherry and I were stay at home moms together for a while and our boys have always been big buddies.  Braden is involved in every sport imaginable and right now, he is playing basketball.  Thus, I made him a basketball card!!

I used the basketball on the Sports Mania cartridge and Design Studio to weld the basketball shape into a card which I folded in half.  I then ran the top layer through the Cuttlebug to add the texture of the basketball.  I pop dotted the sentiments that were printed off using Word.

I hope Braden will like it!!  He's such a sweet, mannerly young man!!  Happy Birthday, Braden!!

Thanks for visiting!! Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

October 4th Grade Classroom Door

Hi Everyone!!  Well, I told you before that I would be decorating my son's teacher's door each month.  Well, his school is having a contest this month.  The doors had to be decorated in a football theme and the winning classroom will get an ice cream party.  I sure hope they win!!  The entry in the contest is below:

I used the following cartridges on this door:

Plantin Schoolbook - Words
Sports Mania - everything else

I must say his teacher was thrilled with the results.  We're keeping our fingers crossed that their classroom will win.  Thank you for coming to visit - we love visitors!!  Until another day, God Bless!  Donna

TaeKwonDo Scrapbook

Hi Everyone! My son has been taking TaeKwonDo since April of 2009. He will test this weekend for his L3 Brown Belt and then he'll only have three levels of red belts to work through before he can test for his black belt. My how time flies!! I started a scrapbook for Jacob so that he could look back on all the progress he has made in his sport and I must say that this is the only scrapbook that I have kept up to date (shame, shame on me)!

I have used many cartridges throughout this scrapbook but one of my favorites is the Sports Mania cartridge. The man kicking on the front page of the scrapbook is just one of the items that I cut with this cartridge. On another layout below, you will notice that some of the TaeKwonDo Tenants are cut out in Chinese and in English. Again, Sports Mania - YEA!! Other cartridges that were used on these layouts were Opposites Attract, Stamping, Indie Art, Lyrical Letters, and Mickey Font just to name a few.

I hope you enjoy the pictures of these layouts. Thanks for stopping by!! Mom and I hope you'll come again tomorrow for another visit. Until another day, God Bless! Donna
