613 Avenue

Design Team A is responsible for the inspiration for the new 613 Avenue Create Challenge this week.  Our sponsor this week is Rick St. Dennis and the theme is Anything Goes with a twist of Create a Tag. I chose the image Isabella - Sunny Days for my tag.

I must admit the tag is rather large but the background came from a pad of KandCompany Mega Tags which I got on sale a while back. I almost forgot I had them until I needed to make a tag for this challenge. I colored the image with Promarkers and the sunflowers are from Martha Stewart.  I think this tag would make a good addition to any present.

Thank you for joining me today.  I hope to see some of your creations in the challenge.

God Bless You!!! Peggy

Gate Fold Card

I showed you an image yesterday that I colored with color pencils.  It was a Rick St. Dennis' image called "Miss Midnight's Flirty Feathers".  I submitted it to Rick's FB page and asked for constructive criticism.  Rick and some of his design team offered some advice.  I went back to my image and applied their suggestions and I really like it a lot better.

I made a card with her using an Anna Griffin's Gatefold Cuttlebug folder.  These folders make such beautiful embossed cards.

The flowers & leaves were made with Martha Stewart punches.

Here are the two versions of the RSD image.  The first one is the way I submitted it to Rick's FB page for constructive criticism.

Here is what she looks like after I applied the suggestions made.  Which do you  like better?

I guess I've never grown up because I like to color.  It kind of reminds me of painting.

Thanks for visiting with me today.  I love hearing from you.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Pencil Colored Image

I have been watching videos trying to learn some new creativity.  One I watched was of Rick St. Dennis coloring an image with colored pencils.  He made it look so easy.

So I decide I want to try it.  I went to our new Hobby Lobby (I won a gift card when they had their grand opening) to see what they had in the way of  colored pencils.  Needless to say, they had a variety.  Since I had a 40% off coupon and my gift card, I chose some Prismacolor pencils.  I'm sure they're not the premium kind everyone uses but they were good enough for me to play with.

I spent the afternoon coloring this Rick St. Dennis image, "Miss Midnight's Flirty Feathers".  It's not my best work but I think it's pretty good for my first try.

Thanks for stopping by today.  We appreciate your visits.  God Bless YOU!!!!  Peggy

Paper A La Mode Challenge - Monochromatic

At The Outlawz our Saturday Paper A La Mode Challenge is Monochromatic.  It is sponsored by Rick St. Dennis.  Rick is a monthly sponsor and I have some beautiful digis from him.  Some of his art is a little dark and I don't like it but I love his "hat ladies" and "fashion ladies".  He has a little to offer almost everyone.  I love the digi I chose for this card.  I think it's based on his niece.

Card Supplies:
Card Base, Die, Snowflake, Sentiment - from Anna Griffin's 2013 Holiday Card Set.  I didn't use all the elements to make my Christmas cards last year so they're coming in handy on other projects.
Image - Angel-Isabella Face by Rick St. Dennis.
Media used to color image:

Skin - Almond, Sunkissed Pink, Baby Pink

Paper A La Mode Challenge - Inspired By A Movie

We begin a new challenge today at The Outlawz Paper A La Mode.  Our theme is 'Inspired By A Movie'.  Our sponsor is Rick St. Dennis.  When I read what the challenge would be I couldn't think of a movie I would use.  So I went to Rick's Zibbett Page to look at his images to see if I could get any inspiration.  When I saw this image it brought back memories of when I was a little girl.  (Yes, I was once young)  My grandmother took me to see "Alice In Wonderland" when it first came out and I loved that.  I loved the fact she took me to the movies periodically.  She would take me to see a movie, then we would stop next door at drugstore that served food for a hot dog.  Such special times.  See you never know what the little things you do for people will mean to them, especially children.

Back to my card.

Card Supplies:
Card Base - Bracket Shaped Card - Silhouette file #54161
Image - Alice in Garden of Live Flowers by Rick St. Dennis
Cheshire Cat in Tree - Silhouette File #9067 by Samantha Walker
White Rabbit - Silhouette File #9114 by Samantha Walker
The Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit are cut files but I took a Snip-it of them, opened them in Silhouette Studio, traced them, then print and cut them.  I love that feature about the Silhouette Cameo.
Pebbles chalk for the background of the label.
Promarkers used to color the image:
Hair - Gold, Tulip Yellow, Buttercup, Ivory
Skin - Coral, Sun-kissed Pink, Baby Pink

Paper A La Mode Challenge - Off The Wall

Our Paper A La Mode Challenge this week is "Off The Wall".  It is sponsored by Rick St. Dennis.  I have to confess I had a tough time with this category.  I made a card with the digi below but didn't think it was  off the wall enough.  I emailed Donna with my frustrations.  She called me back & suggested I use a box shoe we had seen in the Silhouette Online Store, put some flowers & my digi in it and call it Don't Forget To Dance.  I liked that idea so I got right on it.

I made the box shoe & some flowers.  I had already mounted my Digi  on the card so I just cut around it.  That gave it more stability. However, when I started putting things together, the flowers just didn't fit.  I had to put my thinking cap on.  So I decided since the dancer was dressed for a night on the town I would add some glitz.  I filled the shoe with ribbon & made a bow for the back of it.  Then I just stood her in it. Now for me this is "Off The Wall."

Project Supplies:
Shoe -  3d platform stiletto box by Snapdragon Snippets in the Silhouette Online Store.  I added some gems & stickles.
Ribbon
Digital Image - Everybody Dance by Rick St. Dennis
Image colored with Promarkers.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you will give this Off The Wall theme a try.  I would love to see what you come up with.  Have a great weekend.  God Bless You!!! Peggy
