My Crafting Bug Wall Hanging

In my March 18th blog post, I showed you a digi I had enlarged and colored as the beginning of a project.  Over the weekend I finished this wall hanging.  I think it turned out cute.  I made a card similar to this when I first got the image but I like him as a wall hanging better.

Project Supplies:
11"X14" artist canvas
Image - 'Craft Bug' by Priscillastyles
Acrylic Paint Colors - for the background - Turquoise, Lime Green, White (to lighten colors).
Scissors & Sentiment - From Cricut Everyday cartridge
Paper swatches - I drew a rounded square in Silhouette Studio Design, replicated it and filled them with patterns of digital paper I had added to Silhouette software.  I used the print & cut feature to produce them.
Flowers - Micael's $1 bins
Gems
Promarkers:
Lime Zest, Lime Green, Primrose, Magenta, Duck Egg, Cool Aqua, Tan, Light Peach, Peach.  I used a silver metallic gel pen for the scissors.

I hope you like my little project.  Now all I have to do is decide where to hang it.  I hope your week is filled with God's blessings.  Thank you for your support.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

The Start of a Project

I've been working on my craft room to coordinate more of the things in it.  I decorated my machines the other day and bought a few containers to matchStill want to do a few things but have to work on them as I have time.  One thing I have in my head is to make a wall hanging or picture using a digistamp I got from Priscillastyles.  It is called Craft Bug. I increased it's size  big enough to take up an 8X11.5 sheet of cardstock.  I colored it today in preparation to make my picture.  He will be the focal point in it.

If you want to make one with me, go get your digi and get him colored.  I will be back later to finish it.  These are the colors I used to color him.
Promarkers:
Lime Zest, Lime Green, Primrose, Magenta, Duck Egg, Cool Aqua, Tan, Light Peach, Peach.  I used a silver metallic gel pen for the scissors.

I think he will look cute hanging on my wall because, let's face it, we've all been bitten by the Crafting Bug.  I believe I know some who have a terminal case.  LOL

Thank you for visiting with us today.  When you pray would you please ask the Lord to touch Jacob, my grandson, Donna's son.  He is sick with his asthma again.  Every time the seasons change, he & Donna have problems breathing.  Thank you & God Bless You!!!! Peggy

Sunflower Card for MMSC #125

Today is Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #125.  Being on Priscillastyles Design Team requires that I make a card every two weeks for this challenge.  Priscilla always provides 2 different types of sketches.  One is Clean And Simple and the other is Fancy.  You can choose whichever you like.  I chose Priscilla's Sunflower Digi Set for my card.

I printed 4 varying sizes of the center flower decreasing it in size by 1/4" each time.  I colored them with Promarkers, then cut them out and used foam adhesives to adhere them together.  This gave the flower a 3D effect.  I printed 2 of the sunflower on a stem. and matted them to display at the bottom of the card.  I used black Stickles for the "seeds" in the centers of the flowers.

Other items used:
Paper - My Mind's Eye Fall In Love Stack
Martha Stewart Laurel Leaf Corner Punch
Lace
Promarkers Used:
Sunflowers - Sunflower, Gold, Burnt Sienna
Leaves and Stems - Forest Green, Pine
Chalk - to shade background paper for the stemmed sunflowers.

Here are the sketches.  I hope you will decide to join us for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

I've Caught the Craft Bug - Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge

Yesterday, we gave you a glimpse at what it's like to be a crafting addict.  When I saw this image, I knew I had to make a card with him.  This is for all our crafting friends who suffer from the same malady.  LOL

To begin with I colored the image, Craft Bug by "priscillastyles" with my Promarkers.  I will list the colors below.  Then I took the Cricut Everyday cartridge  and chose the bottles and scissors images.  Sorry, I forgot to bring my notes where I wrote down the page numbers of the images I used.  I loaded the cartridge in my Imagine and flood filled them with color, then printed and cut them.

I also cut 2 scalloped ovals and flood filled them with patterns from the Yummy Imagine Cartridge.

Next I added my image to the ovals.

I applied him to my card base, then cut some inch squares to represent cardstock and added my computer generated sentiment.

Promarkers used to color Craft Bug.
Bug - Lime Zest, Lime Green, Mango, Dusky Pink
Wings - Lime Zest, Cool Gray 1

Challenges I will enter this card in:
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Paper Playtime - Anything Goes

Be sure to check out Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge today.  This is my entry for it.  I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I had fun making him.  I know he's not fancy or anything, but he is so appropriate for how we feel sometimes.  Thank you for your visit and support.  God Bless You!!! Peggy
