Teacup Card #3, 4, 5 And 6

Yesterday was my late husband & I anniversary.  I hate when these special days roll around because it always re-emphasizes the loss of a great man.  I have my special memories though.  He was an incredible husband, my biggest fan.  My son, Brian, called me early and told me he was thinking and praying for me.  Then Donna took me out to eat last night.  My children are the best a Mother could ask for.

Now on to my third teacup card.

I cut these flourishes a long time ago using patterned glitter paper.  I cannot remember the cartridge name.  I searched for it but could not find it.  If you know what it's from, please let me know because I would like to use it again.

Here is the inside photo.
I've decided to go ahead and post the rest of the cards.  Donna has more valentines to post.

Card Set - Simple

I went to Michael's Monday to get the yarn for Donna's scarf.  While I was there I checked out the Studio G bins.  I love all that $1 stuff.  I found several packs of note cards (one pictured below.  I thought the embossing on this one was really nice.

I've been wanting to make a card set for a friend as a thank you for helping me.  I decided this set of cards would make a nice one.  So I started.  I knew I would need labels, so I turned on my trusty Cameo and looked for a file I could use on these.  The one I chose is Stacked Label Set by Sophie Gallo-Design ID#40619.  It is a multi-layered label but I separated it and only used 2, one for the wording and a larger one for the shadow.  I made a pageful of each phrase to have some on hand in the future.  I used a font on my computer for the wording.
Here are pictures of the finished cards.  I attempted to  color the embossing on one of them but I don't really like the way it turned out.  I used ribbon, trim and gems I had on hand to complete them.  Super simple cards but I like how they turned out.  I hope my friend will like them.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you're staying warm.  I'm getting cabin fever from being iced in.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

Cards By Commission

My boss is one of the ladies that I exchange handmade gifts with each Christmas. Last year, I made her one of the card sets that was in the previous post. She had the card set sitting on her desk while she was having a meeting with a graphic arts designer who was doing some printing for her. He inquired as to where she had bought the cards. She told him I made the set for her. He then asked me to make him two sets for his Mom and Sister. He wanted their initials on the cards. These are the card sets that I made for him.

I used the Storybook cartridge to cut the initials. The papers are Basic Grey.  I also used the Martha Stewart Loop Punch.

Handmade Christmas Gifts

Hi Everyone - I work with a wonderful group of ladies and we celebrate Christmas together by making handmade gifts. The rules are each of us has to make a gift for everyone and not spend over $7 per gift. These are some examples of the card sets I made last year. Everyone loved them.

I got the instructions for the box from the Splitcoaststampers website. I used papers that I purchased at the Scrapbook Clearance store in Pigeon Forge, TN for 50 cents each. I LOVE that store.

Hope you find inspiration. Thanks for visiting and we hope you'll come back. Until another day, God bless. Donna

Pink and Black Card Set

Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you I love pink.  So whenever I get the opportunity to make or wear something pink I will.  I bought some paper at Big Lots and it turned out to be from a "Luxury" paper stack.  It had this very pretty pink & black glitter paper in it.  My sister-in-law's birthday was coming up so I made her this BD card and card set.

For the BD card, I cut the label from Storybook cartridge, page 72 Accent Blackout.  The ribbon slide is from the Sabrina collection by Making Memories.  The flower is by Spare Parts.

For the card set, I used the Perfect  Paisley Embossing folder on the solid pink cardstock.  On the butterflies I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  The butterfly I cut using the Indie Art cartridge.  I added various embellishments, ribbon and bling.
This is the folder I put them in.

People always seem to enjoy getting these card sets.  The only problem we have is getting them to pass them along to other people.

Thank you for visiting our blog.  We look forward to your comments.  Peggy

Wild Saffron Card Set

You will soon find Donna and I like to give card sets as gifts.  Those that receive them love them and we enjoy making them.  I usually use a "Thinking of You"  theme.  This is my logic; Thinking of You can be applied to birthdays, sympathy, missing you, etc., etc.

I made this set from K&Co. Wild Saffron double sided paper stack.  The neat thing about this card set is that I cut all four card fronts from one sheet of paper.  They are A2 size.  I just strategically cut the paper so each card is a little different.  I bought some Wild Saffron embellishments and decorated the butterflies, labels and envelopes.  The brown label is embossed with D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder.  The insides of the cards are decorated with a strip of paper and a butterfly cut from the Indie Art Solutions cartridge.  I applied orange stickles to these butterflies.  I also made a folder to hold them but I'd rather use clear plastic boxes to put my cards in now.  I decorate the boxes to match the cards.

Thanks again for stopping by.  Leave us a comment and tell your friends about us.  Peggy

Card Set Inspired By Vera

I made this card set for my niece's birthday. It was inspired by Vera Bradley's pattern Sitting in a Tree. A couple of times when I visited her office at the YMCA I noticed she had a purse and a duffle bag in this pattern. I had just gotten the Cricut cartridge "Cindy Loo" and decided this was the perfect cartridge for these cards.

Everything was cut from Cindy Loo except the bird which was cut from Lyrical letters.  In Design Studio I changed the size of the "doilies" (so called in Cindy Loo) to 4.25" X 5.5"  They came out perfect for the front of the cards.  I stamped a line of birds on the envelopes to carry the theme throughout.  The clear box is from Clearbags.com.  They are perfect for card sets.  My niece was quite pleased.

I hope you enjoy visiting our blog and will follow it and tell others about it.  Thank you for your visit.  Comments make us happy.               Peggy
