Autumn Is A Second Spring Where Every Leaf is a Flower

This card is a spin off of a card made by Bobby of the Cricut Couple.  He posted an Accordian Card with an accordian fold piece of cardstock behind the frame. Click on their name to see it.  I made one after I saw theirs but Bobby's is exquisite.  I love the accordian fold but was trying to think of something similar without being so thick.  This is what I came up with.  Oh, by the way,  I am entering this card to audition for My Craft Spot Design Team.

This card is 6X6".  I used Kraft paper for the card base (12X6" then folded in half).

I cut two square frames using Elegant Edges.  Make sure the openings are not the same size.  The paper is from the Imagine Enjoy the Seasons Cartridge.

For the piece behind the frames, I cut a piece of Kraft paper at 6X6" and ran it through my Fiskars Crimper.  It gave it a ripple effect, not an accordian fold but a nice effect.
The image is a free digistamp from Create With TLC.  Paulette is the most generous lady with her digistamps.  If you like digital images, you should frequent her site.  She gives away images and sentiments daily.  I colored it with Promarkers, then highlighted the leaves with Stickles.  Do you see the little clouds I cut out?  I held them on the  image while I applied chalk to the background.  When I finished, it looks like I have clouds in the sky.

The leaves and the acorns on the card are cut from the Enjoy The Seasons cartridge also, except for the two large brown ones.  Those are embellishments from my stash.  I decorated the leaves and acorns with Stickles also.  I love bling.

I put the cutouts from the front frames on the inside for the message along with a branch cut from the above cartridge.  Oh yes, I inked everything with brown ink.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you're having a great day.  Donna and I love to read your comments.  God Bless You!!!! Peggy

  2. You Go Girl! Look at you taking the folding and making it SO MUCH EASIER TO DO! Hee! Hee! I just love it!!! I have to try this with some craft style Christmas paper that I have! I don't have a krimper, but I do have some cardboard I can probably take apart. Brilliant!!!
