Happy Birthday Cards - Out of Character

Hi Everyone!!

Well, yesterday was Mom's birthday and because she would not promise not to look at the blog yesterday, I decided to post her card today.  Actually, I'm posting her card and my sister-in-law, Terrie's, card today.

I decided to make two cards at the same time so that I could use all the paper on the cards and not waste paper.  One card (Mom's) is bigger than the other but I think they both turned out really pretty.

I used Cricut Craftroom and the new cartridge, Out of Character, to form the cardbase.  I used the Happy Birthday Layer 2, Shift.  I put two of these on the mat on the screen and turned them sideways, flipped one, and then merged them to form the cardbase.  The bigger cardbase was cut at 5" x 6.5" and the other one was cut at 4" x 5.5".

I then cut the layers out of different colored cardstock and adhered them to the fronts of the cards.

I printed the sentiments on the printer and adhered to front of the card.

Mom really liked hers and I hope Terrie will like hers too!

We did have a birthday celebration for Mom this evening - we had dinner, balloons, and cupcakes.  Craig did ask Mom how we were going to get all the candles on the cupcakes.  He loves to pick on her - I gave her permission to hit him!!  Here's a picture of her blowing out her candles.

I must say that I LOVE having my mom living just seven miles from my house!!  If you didn't get a chance to wish Mom Happy Birthday yesterday, please do so today!!

Thanks for stopping by - we appreciate you, your visits, and your comments.  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

  1. Lovely cards, Donna.
Peggy, hope you had a wonderful birthday. I don't think you need to worry about candles. There's 6 0f them and each one probably stands for 5 years. Soooo 30 isn't so bad! lol
