Crafty Card Makers - Fancy Folds

Today on Crafty Cardmakers our theme is "Fancy Folds".  The design team has worked hard to create some lovely cards for your inspiration.  My card is a Flip card.  I used an Anna Griffin card set for this card.  The card set includes dies and embellishments to help with your design.

The center of the card flips to reveal your sentiment.

Crafty Cardmakers - Autumn

Last week we were struggling through Hurricane Irrma, although it wasn't bad here.  My heart goes out to those affected by this terrible storm. The temperatures certainly cooled a lot and it felt like Fall.  I'm not sure if I'm ready for weather that cool just yet.  

This week at Crafty Cardmakers our theme is Autumn.  So I pulled out some fall colored cardstock and came up with this card.

Card Supplies:

Harvest Blessings - this is a Cricut Design Space file.  I cut it from 2 different rust colored pieces of cardstock.

Anna Griffin Summer/Fall embossing folders - The 6" square card base was embossed with one of the folders and the matching border folder.

Stickles - gold was applied to the "Blessings"

I like how this turned out.  The hardest part was getting the two layers away from the cardstock without tearing them up.

Crafty Card Makers - Monochromatic

Welcome to Crafty Cardmakers Challenge.  The theme for this week is "Monochromatic".  I know a lot of us automatically think of black and white or various shades of brown when we think monochromatic.  I thought of going against my natural inclinations with pink.  This is my card and I like how it turned out.  I admit I struggled with it a bit..........

At first I laid out the flowers on the the pink background with no embossing. No matter how I laid them out, it just didn't look right. Then I found this Sizzix embossing folder I had never used.  It seems to lead your eyes to the flowers.  I then added a bow and gems to complete the card along with a Happy Birthday greeting. The flowers were made using Anna Griffin 3D Flower Dies.

Crafty Cardmakers-Under The Sea/At the Beach

The Crafty Cardmakers have been on little hiatus but we're back today.  The theme for our challenge is "Under the Sea or At the Beach".  I couldn't think of a more appropriate image than this one. This image is a product of a Kit and Clowder monthly coloring class.  It is a Conie Fong image.  These classes are so much fun and you learn so much.  

This image was colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  I hope you will join us at Crafty Cardmakers for our current challenge.

Crafty Cardmakers - Floral Perfusion

Crafty Cardmakers new challenge starting today is "Floral Perfusion".  Add lots of flowers to your card, not just one, because one is not a perfusion.  My DT card:

Card Base - this is cut in Cricut Design Space using an svg file by Diana Tunnicliff.  She calls these cards hinged cards.  Diana creates her cards in Make The Cut software.  However, she always saves them as an svg file for us who do not use MTC.

The tutorial on how to make this card is at Beccy's Place.  Beccy Muir is the owner of this site and has a lot of tutorials for various card folds.  I created a Design Space file for this card after seeing Beccy's tutorial.  The DS file can be found here.  It's a very easy card to make and you can decorate in many ways.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge-Something With Wings

The Crafty Cardmakers Challenge that starts today is all about wings.  Please make a project and add something with wings.  My entry is from the Kit and Clowder March Pencil Class.  This months classes, both pencil and marker, have birds as the focal image.  I tried the marker class but did not like the way it was going so decided to try pencils.  I'm not completely happy with it but here it is.

 I colored him with Prismacolor pencils.  I hope you will join in our challenge.  Let's get those butterflies, bees, birds, beetles,etc. humming.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge-Spring Into Spring

We start a new challenge today at Crafty Cardmakers.  The theme is Spring into Spring.  It is my pleasure to host this challenge.  Spring is my favorite time of year.  It's the time of year flowers and all of nature take on new life and fill the world with beauty.  It's also the time we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  I hope you will join our challenge and show us your beautiful Spring projects.

My card is a simple card made with Craft Artist 2 Professional software.  I learned about this software from one of FB friends, Carla Brooke.  I pop-dotted some of the flowers and banner with foam adhesives for dimension.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - For A Special Woman/Girl-Mother's Day

A new challenge starts today at Crafty Cardmakers.   Our theme is "For A Special Woman/Girl or Mother's Day".  My mom is not living so I rarely make a Mother's Day card.  I chose instead to make a Thank You card for my daughter, Donna.  Donna is a daughter like every mother should have.  She calls me almost every day and when I need her she's always right here.  Thank you, Donna, for being you.  I love you.

Gold overlay was made using the new Anna Griffin Edge Dies. This was the only thing I bought during the HSN Craft Day on March 8.

Ribbon - I found these hand tied bows at a fabric/pottery store in Galax while visiting my son & daughter-in-law last week.  I'll tell you about that visit later.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge-Go Green

A new challenge starts today at Crafty Cardmakers.  The theme is Go Green.  We want to see a lot of green on your projects, use up some of your stash, or even make a St. Patrick's Day card.  Let's see your creations.  I decided to make my first Christmas card of 2017.

This card is a Make It Now project from Cricut Design Space.  It is called "Christmas Bow Card and Envelope".  The images are from Anna Griffin's Christmas Cards and Embellishments cartridge.  There is actually a ribbon and bow to cut out but I thought a real ribbon and bow looked better.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - Add Some Texture

We start a new challenge today at Crafty Cardmakers.  The theme for the next two weeks is Add Some Texture to your project.  This can be a lot of fun.  If you have some texture paste or multi-media products, let's see your creations.  Or you can do as I did, add texture by embossing.

The layout for this card is in Cricut Design Space Access.  This is one of my favorite card layouts.  I used an AG Cuttlebug folder on both the frame and the layer behind it.  I tried to line them up on the embossing folder so that the design carried over to the frame.  I added some multi-layered flowers and foil accented flourishes.  It's ready for a sentiment.  This card can be used for all kind of occasions.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - Love, Love, Love

We start a new challenge today at Crafty Cardmakers Challenge.  Our theme is Love, Love, Love since we're getting close to Valentine's Day.  Make any project pertaining to love and join us.  It doesn't have to be a card.  My project is a card as you probably know.

Dies - a new set by Anna Griffin called "Love/Easter Seasonal Cut and Emboss Dies. These were introduced on the HSN March Craft Day.  I have to stop watching.  I can't seem to resist.

I have been missing for a while.  I was in the hospital last week.  I had chest pains and passed out.  I had to stay 3 days for tests.  They determined one of my by-pass grafts has failed.  I am to see a surgeon Tuesday to determine if something can be done.  Hopefully they can stent it.  Your prayers will be appreciated.

Crafty Cardmakers - New Beginnings

I have been asked to be on the Crafty Cardmakers Design Team.  Thank you, Lin, for this privilege.  The challenges are scheduled every 2 weeks.  I hope you will join us for these challenges.  The January 16th challenge is "New Beginnings".  Make a project representing a new beginning, i.e., baby, new home, marriage, etc. My card is about marriage.  I made my card for a couple getting married later this year.  This card was not hard to make but it looks so elegant in all white.
