Evolution of A Disastrous Project

My brain was going this morning with an idea for a card.  The problem, my brilliant ideas did not transfer to my project.  My idea was to create the card along with pictures.  So I was snapping away during the process, thus documenting this disaster.  Okay let's begin.

My idea was to create a couple of cards using images from Paper Lace 2 welded to a rectangle (my card) from George and Basic Shapes.  So far, so good.

I took the butterfly image (Lace 2), placed it on my mat and hid the outside lines, otherwise I would have ended up with a card with a hole cut out of it.

Next I moved it to my George 5.5X8.5 rectangles.  I hid the circles on the second one so it only has butterfly cutouts.

This is how they looked cutout.  See I told you I was snapping away.  Still so far, so good.

I decided to work on the one with the circles along the outside.  I laced ribbon through the circles.  Still so far, not toooo bad.  I added yellow paper under the butterflies.  My next idea is when the project started going downhill.  I decided since the yellow ribbon was outlined in brown, I would outline the butterflies with dark brown.  Bad idea.

Then I thought that maybe to add yellow stickles would perk it up.  Still not a good idea.
 YUCK!!!
So I decided to lay it aside and work on the second card. I added blue paper under these butterflies.  I then covered them with Close To My Heart Liquid Glass.  I think this one looks better but I don't have the heart to finish it today.  I'm laying it aside until I feel inspired.  Right now I don't think I will.

Thanks for taking this little journey with me today.  As you can see none of us are perfect.  I'm hoping Donna will take Paper Lace 2 and create a masterpiece with it.  It is a beautiful cartridge.

I hope you'll come back tomorrow.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

I love that cart too, but I too have been unsuccessful with it... I will be watching to see what marvelous creation she comes up with. TFS
