Simple Birthday Card for Nephew

I have quite busy lately in my craft room.  As a matter of fact, I haven't gotten much of anything else done.  I don't know where the time goes.  I don't get through with one birthday or design team duty until it's time to go again.  And I don't belong to as many design teams as some of you do.  I think I must be getting slower in my old age.  Of course, I've never been really fast when it comes to making anything.  I think I'm too picky.

One of my nephews has a birthday next week as well as his mother.  I've been working on a card for each of them.  I made his really simple.  I don't think men really care for fancy cards.

A2 Card Base

Background Paper - 8X8 Echo Park "Dots and Stripes" Paper Pad. All the papers in this stack are good colors for masculine cards.

Label is from a Make It Now project from Cricut Design Space.  Here is the link to it.  I changed to papers to make it appropriate for what I needed.

Christmas Card - Week #8

This is the 7th week for making cards on the FaceBook Group, Only Christmas Cards/Projects.   This is their challenge for the year of 2016.  Have you been following this group.  There are some gorgeous cards there, much prettier than I could ever make.  But I like to try.  Besides, it's helping me with my Christmas cards for this year.

Card Supplies:
5X7 card base - This card is a Make it Now project cut from Anna's Christmas Cards and Embellishments.  I added ribbon, stickles for centers and the sentiment.  All you have to do is pull it up, cut it and adhere it together.  I used pearlized paper hoping I would get more glimmer.

Another New DS4J Release

Time seemed to get away from me this week with having company and all.  But I'd rather spend time with my son and his wife than make cards any day.  We had such a good time visiting.  As always I had to make his favorite food, Chicken and Dumplings.  Donna and her family came over and we ate until we were stuffed.

This is the second card I was working on for the New Release Sunday at Digistamps4Joy.  I finished it yesterday after Brian & Terrie left.

Digistamps4Joy New Release Sunday

Today is another New Release Sunday at Digistamps4Joy.  Jenlee produced some cute "Phantasi" images to show off today.  Some of her images are for sale as pre-colored.  This makes creating a card very easy.  You can find the new images in the store here.

I used Phantasi 3 for my card.  You should go to Digistamps4Joy blog to see all the beautiful coloring and cards done by the design team.  This is truly a colorful Challenge.

Purple and Gold Floral Card

This is another Make It Now project in Design Space.  It is called Purple and Gold Floral Card.  It has cuts from the Anna Griffin Lace Cards and Embellishments.

I think this card turned out really pretty.  It's really prettier in real life than this picture portrays.  However, when I tried to cut it, there's a problem with the gold layer.  If it is cut exactly like it shows, all you will get are the pieces that are gold.  You would have to in turn glue every piece to the card. You don't get an actual layer.  Now, nobody wants to adhere that many little pieces to a card so I created a layer.  All you have to do is adhere the gold layer to the card and the purple layer to the gold.  You can download my file here if you want it.  

I don't know how to contact the lady who created the original file to tell her of the error.  If anyone knows how to contact her, please let me know.  I'm sure she is not aware of this.

Bow Card-Ribbons & Bows

Did anyone get the new Anna Griffin Cricut cartridge when she was on HSN in February?  If you like Anna Griffin anything, you will like this cartridge.  It's called Ribbons and Bows. The card I'm going to show you below is a Make It Now project in Cricut Design Space using this new cartridge.

The backgrounds and the bow are cuts from Ribbons and Bows.  Just open Design Space, in the Make it Now Projects, search by Cards.  This card is called Bow Card. All you have to do is cut the layers, adhere them and add pearls.  I love it.  Ribbons and Bows will be available for purchase early Spring if you didn't get it when it was introduced.

Guest Designer for Crafters Cafe Challenge

Digistamps4Joy is sponsoring the challenge at Crafters Cafe starting today.  I was asked to be a guest designer featuring one of DS4J's images. The theme is Inspired By A Song.  Now I will be the first to admit that I'm not very good when it comes to this theme.  However, I gave it a try.  That's all any of us can do, right?

The image I chose for my card is Warm In Winter created by the talented JenLee.  It's a pre-colored image making it easier to create a card.  I hope my card represents the song I had in mind, "Baby, It's Cold Outside."
