Hi Everyone - As I've said in earlier posts, I'm helping my friend give a baby shower for her niece next week. Mom and I decided to make a book for all the guests that attend the shower to write some "motherly" advice for the new mom. The theme for the shower is "Look Whooo's Having a Baby" so we decided that we would make the book in the shape of an (you guessed it) owl!! Whoohooo!!
We found a really cute owl on Cindy Loo. We cut out the outside of the book using cardboard at 8". We then cut the covers for the book out of brown cardstock. We cut the layers of the owl out of pink, orange, and yellow cardstock. We decorated the pages with images cut from the Imagine Nursery Tails.
Taylor's nursery is decorated in owls so I can't wait for her to be able to put this book in her nursery.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. We appreciate your visits and your comments. Until another day, God Bless You! Donna
I made it back from visiting with family and friends. I first went to my sister's for a few days, then went to some dear friends in Charlotte, NC. While there, I helped her with some window treatments. And wouldn't you know it, I didn't take pictures. She was very happy so that's all that matters.
Donna is working on some items for a baby shower she's helping with in November. I made this bag for one of her friends to put her gift in.
For this side I used Nursery Rhymes. The stork and shadow are cut at 9". The sentiment is cut at 3".
This side is decorated with an image from Nursery Tails, an Imagine cartridge. I printed and cut all the pieces at 9". Did you guess the mother-to-be is having a girl. Here's a close up of the image. I hope you can see that some of the elements were put on with foam adhesives to give them some dimension.
Thank you for visiting with us today. We'll be back tomorrow. God Bless You!!!!! Peggy
One the way to the movies Friday night I made the mistake of going by Michael's to kill some time. I was not planning to buy anything but when I saw the DCWV French Country paper stack, I could not resist. After all, I had a 40% off coupon. I used it and the Art Nouveau Cricut cartridge to make this card.
I designed this card in Cricut Craft Room. I used George and the border feature of Elegant Edges to make the card base. The paper is from DCWV French Country Stack. The lady is from the Art Nouveau Cricut cartridge, page 49. I chose the different elements of the design and colored them with the Best Friends and Nursery Tale Imagine cartridges. After printing them and cutting them out with my Imagine, I inked some of the elements and adhered them together. She was cut at 6". The scalloped oval is from Elegant Edges. I intertwined ribbon through the holes in the scallops. I liked the way this card turned out.
Challenges for this card:
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes (plus Ribbons)
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes
Card Cupids - Anything Goes

Today is Heart Song Challenge. The theme for today is Summertime (whatever this means to you) AND/OR don't use any patterned paper. I really wanted to use patterned paper with this image but didn't. We would love for you to join in and let us know what Summer is to you. Leah is providing a free digi for anyone who wants to use it.
I chose Leah's Very Cherry Frame for my card. It can be found here.
Card Recipe:
A2 Card Base
Background paper - Card stock embossed with the Cuttlebug Floral Screen embossing folder
Digital Image - Very Cherry Frame by Leah Cornelius.
Digital Sentiments - Rainbow Echo Designs - Summer Loving Sentiments. This was a freebie I downloaded so I'm not sure of the website. You could probably Google it and find it.
Scalloped shape is an image on the Cricut Imagine. I flood filled it with pink color from the Nursery Tails Imagine Cartridge. I am totally having a ball playing with this new "toy".
Ribbon
Gem Butterflies
Promarkers used to color image:
Cherries - Red, Berry Red
Blossoms - Pale Pink, Cerise
Leaves - Leaf Green, Forest Green
Frame - Pale Pink
Here is a watermarked view of the image.
Now don't forget to swing by Heart Song Designs and see all the creations the Design Team have created. There are some really talented ladies in this group. I'm glad they let me play with them. Thanks for stopping by today. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow. God Bless You!!!! Peggy
