Mother's Day Card for Donna

I wanted to make Donna a Mother's Day Card to let her know what a good mother I think she is.  Her love for Jacob shows in everything she does.  I looked at the Mother's Day projects in Cricut Design Space.  I found the "Drawn Floral Mother's Day Card" by Anna Rose and modified it to meet my needs.

The original file has Mom on the strip across the front.  The pattern on the card base is a file from the Paper Lace cartridge drawn with a silver metallic pen.  The rose is from Sweetheart cartridge. The Happy Mother's Day sentiment is from the Wild Card cartridge written with the Cristal Rose Cricut Pen.  I actually used the score tool, writing pen & blade for this card.  I love the ability to write my messages on an insert and adhere it to the inside of the card which is what I did with Donna's card.

Here is the card she made for me.  I'm hoping she will fill in the details.  I'm sure it is a Silhouette cut file.  She knows how much I love butterflies and how they symbolize new life, so how appropriate is it that my card would have a butterfly cutout.  I love it.

Hi Everyone  - I made this card for my mom using the Silhouette Cameo and a cut file from the Silhouette store.  The butterfly has become kind of a symbol for our family and our blog since my dad passed away four years ago.  Right after his death, we started to see yellow butterflies everywhere we were and before my dad's death, we hadn't seen the butterflies.  We all felt like it was Daddy saying HI and letting us know that he was okay.  You know how a caterpillar enters the cocoon and rejuvenates itself into a butterfly - we took seeing all the butterflies as my Daddy's earthly body being reborn into his Heavenly body.  Ever since then, we've loved butterflies so I thought I would make Mom's card with a butterfly.  Her favorite color is pink so after cutting out the card with the Silhouette, I cut a piece of pink paper to show through the wings of the butterfly, for the body of the butterfly, and the words. Mom loved her card.

I have the best Mom in the world - she's not only my Mom, but we are BFFs!  Yesterday, I went to Mom's house for breakfast and then we went to get a pedicure.  Here is a picture of our finished toes.

Mine are blue and Mom's are red.  We like to get some flowers put on our toes!!  We always have a blast together - love you Mom!!

Thank you for visiting with us today and please come back again.  We love you.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy and Donna
