You Are My Sunshine - Sophie Cricut Cartridge, The Paper Shelter

Hi Everyone!

My mom recently won a challenge that awarded her some digital stamps from The Paper Shelter.  Oh My Goodness, we didn't know that website existed but their digital stamps are absolutely beautiful.  They are the type of digis that I love to work with so if you've never visited that site, here is the link: THE PAPER SHELTER.  You'll find something that you like, I'm sure!

For the card I made today, I used the Funny Sunflower digi.  I just love Sunflowers - they make me think of Spring and Summer.  I colored two of the same digi with the following Promarkers:

Flower - Sunflower (HA), Gold, Tulip Yellow, Orange
Butterfly - Amethyst, Purple
Stem/Leaves, Grass - Pear Green
Snail - Soft Green
Lady Bug - Red, Cool Grey 4

I cut the face off the flower out so that I could pop it on top of the other face for dimension.

I used my Cricut Expression to cut the Yellow cardbase using the Sophie Cricut Cartridge - Card 2 on Page 48.  I cut the card to the dimensions of 6.5 x 10.  I mount the digi to yellow chalkboard paper and then attached it to a piece of blue woodgrain cardstock.  I tied ribbon around the blue cardstock and hung a flower charm from the ribbon.  I also cut another piece of blue cardstock and attached to the inside of the card to show through the flowers on the side of the card.

I think the card turned out really cute and can be used for a Birthday Card, Just Because Card, or a Get Well Card.  Thank so much for stopping by today - we appreciate your visits and your comments.  Please stop by tomorrow - Mom has been playing with vinyl and you will LOVE what she's done to her machines.  She's going to make something for my machines too (HINT, HINT)!!

Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

My Paper Shelter Card

Monday I told you about The Paper Shelter and how I won a challenge they sponsored.  They have darling digis, plain & pre-colored.  Here is my card I was working on then.

Here are the 2 components I printed and cut out from the file I got from TPS.
I didn't notice until I had cut it out that there are snowflakes on the background so I had to do something so my card could be a birthday card.  Flowers fix everything so I got out my favorite Cricut cartridge for making flowers for cards, Mother's Day Bouquet.  I cut out the different elements I wanted to use in the flowers.
The leaves & center flower part are cut from vellum.  I found some vellum at Michael's for $.25 for a 12X12 sheet.  I glued these pieces together & put them on the card.  I think if I did it over, I would make the flowers a bit smaller.  To my eye, they over power the little girl.  I still like the card though.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Max has become my crafting mascot.  He has taken to sitting on my lap while I craft.  I have a hard time creating with my arms wrapped around him.  I'm not sure his motive is to just sit on my lap.  I think it might be because he can see outside better from that vantage point.  Oh well, what can I say, he's a spoiled little doggie.  God Bless You!!! Peggy.

I've Discovered The Paper Shelter

Donna & I have been entering our projects in some of the challenges in blogland for the past few weeks. I entered Buttons' Valentine in the Fab n Funky Challenge. Lo & behold, Buttons and I won.  The prize was a $20 gift certificate to The Paper Shelter website.  I'm sorry but I had never heard of The Paper Shelter, so I log in to their site and fell in love.

They have some adorable images, digis & papers.  They probably have other things but this is as far as I got.  I was amazed at how much you get for the price.  I got some beautiful Victorian Beauty Digital paper for $5 (24 sheets).  Look at what the images files have included.
You get 1 jpg and 1 png format B&W Digital Stamp, 1 colored digital stamp of the image.  You get a background layout and a background layout with the colored  digi on it.  All that for $3.00.
I have paid that much for just a black & white digi that I had to color.   You will want to take a tour of their site.

I am working on a card using one their images that I will share tomorrow.  I like to share good finds with you so I hope you will find this information helpful.  Just a little enabling here.  LOL
God Bless You!!! Peggy
