WISHING YOU A SUNSHINY DAY!! - Paper Lace 2, George, Flower Shoppe

Hi Everyone!

Last week, Mom called me to say that she had made the ugliest card she had ever made that day!  Well, Mom says that a lot and it never turns out to be true.  So I went over to her house to pick up Jacob and sorry to say, I had to agree with her!!  I think she must have been suffering from "card block!!"  She told me that I had to try and make a card using Paper Lace 2 to make up for the one that she had made.

Well, my best friend, Stacy, had a birthday yesterday and this is my experience using Paper Lace 2!  As you will see, I had my struggles too!!  "Card Block" must be catching!!

Using Cricut Craftroom and my Jukebox, I used the square on George to form a card base sized 10.25" x 6.75.  From the Paper Lace 2 cartridge, I chose to use the Sunflower to form a die cut on the front of the card.

One problem though - I forgot to remove the outline on the outside of the flowers.  Here's what happens when you do that!!

When you forget to do that, you don't get a card!!  So I put this aside for future use and removed the outline around the flowers.

I was on the right track then!!

I folded the card in half and inserted blue cardstock for the inside of the card.  I cut out a border of sunflowers for the inside of the card.  I placed a blue border across the center front of the card and made a sunflower at 2 3/4" using the Flower Shoppe cartridge.

Above is the finished product - all in all I think it turned out pretty good in spite of all my problems at the start.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Mom and I appreciate your visits and your comments!  I hope you have a stress free Monday.  Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna

Love the beautiful place cards and napkins rings. Also love to see you used your Imagine. Inspires me to use mine more.
Congratulations, Suzanne.  If you will email me with your address, I will get your Michael's gift card to you.  Now on to our regular post

Mondays mean there's a new challenge at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  Today's challenge is to create a card with the words Thank You on it.

I chose the Wild Card Cricut cartridge to create this scalloped card cut at 5".  I inked around the edges with brown.  To create the opening,  I chose the Thank You from Paper Lace II and welded it in the center of the card.  I cut the Thank You out and popped it with adhesive foam dots.  I threaded ribbon through the opening on the scallops, then applied some bling from my stash.  This card was very easy to make.  Wild card has some fun cards on it.  I don't know why I don't use it more.

This is the inside of the card.  I hope you will swing by FCCB and enter our challenge this week.  The Design Team will have a lot of inspiration for you.

Challenges for this card:
Corrosive Challenges - Give Thanks (ends 26th Nov)
Creative Inspirations Paint - Thanks
Outlawz challenge - "Thank you" Card using Fall Colours
Catch The Bug - Give thanks/Thanksgiving
My Sheri Crafts  -  Be Thankful

Thank you for visiting with us this week.  I know we're all gearing up for Thanksgiving and quite busy so your visits are especially meaningful to us.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy

Paper Lace II/Mini Monograms Masculine Birthday Card

My son has a birthday coming up soon.  I have a hard time with masculine cards but I knew exactly what I wanted to do for him.  He called me a couple of weeks ago and said, "Mom, you need to download this app, Wordfeud, to your Ipod.  It's like scrabble and we can play online."  Little did I know how addictive it is.  He gave me the game names of a few of our friends and before long I was involved in 4 games at one time.  One of the girls told me that she, her Mom and her sister get so aggravated with him because he has no mercy.  He has none with me either.  It runs in the family.  Here is his card.
I used Paper Lace ll for the Happy Birthday sentiment - Page  53, Lace 1 feature.  I cut it at 4.5 and decided it was too big so I cut it in half and put it to the side of the card.  I found the Scrabble Prayer on the internet and thought it was so appropriate.

I went to Wordfeud.com and screenprinted their web page to get the phone image.

On the inside, I applied the other half of the Paper Lace ll image.  I cut out letters using Mini-Monograms.  I wanted my message to look similar to Wordfeud letters.  He will have to decipher it.  I couldn't get everything to intersect but you get the gist of what I'm trying to do.  My message is "To my favorite Son, I love you."  I only have one son and one daughter.

This was a fun card to make and I hope it will inspire you.  Thank you for visiting today and we hope you will come back tomorrow.  We look forward to your visits and comments.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy
