I "DONUT" KNOW HOW TO THANK YOU - SMILEY CARDS, GYPSY

Hi Everyone!!

I've said it many times and I'll have to say it again!  "I have the BEST boss in the world!"  She's not only good to me but she's also good to my family.  My son recently graduated from the 5th grade.  Well, Jean knows that Jacob LOVES Krispy Kreme donuts.  So, in honor of his graduation, she gave him a gift card to Krispy Kreme for donuts!!

You should have seen the smile that spread over his face when he opened the card.  He couldn't wait to go spend it.  On the way home from the store, he had a donut in both hands alternately taking bites from each.

I'm trying to teach Jacob proper etiquette and make sure that he sends thank you notes when people give him gifts.  So with that in mind, I made the card below:

Card Recipe:

Now here's another shocker for you - I NEVERRRRRR use my Gypsy - truth be told - I'm intimidated by it!  Well, the only cartridgesthat I could find that I have that had a donut on it was included when I purchased my Gypsy - Smiley Cards.  So I dragged out my Gypsy, blew the dust off it, and actually found it was quite easy to cut out the donut at 3.5".

I found the sketch for the card on the Feline Playful website.

I covered the card with plaid paper from the DCWV Sweet paper pad and cut four 1" squares of yellow cardstock for the corners of the card.

I covered the middle of the card with blue shimmer paper and then covered the blue paper with hot pink paper.  I punched the edges of the pink paper using a Martha Stewart punch.
Then I popped the donut on top and added bling as the sprinkles!!!

Using Word, I typed "I "donut" know how to thank you enough..... and popped on the front of the card.  For the inside, I typed, ....for all your kindness!  You are the BEST!!

Jacob wrote on the inside and gave it to Jean this morning.  She loved it almost as much as Jacob loved those donuts!!!

Well, thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you all are getting some relief from this heat!  Please pray for rain and for our Nation - we definitely need it!!  Thanks for your comments and we hope you'll come back tomorrow!!  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna
