FUNNY CARD FOR MY BIG BROTHER - CURSIVE 101

Hi Everyone!  I don't know if you know it or not but I have an older brother named Brian.  Now Brian and I have a funny relationship - we looooovvvvvvveeee to pick on each other, especially about our age.  Brian turned 50 last year (and no, my Mom is not old enough to have children as old as we are - we all just grew up together).  Well, with the help of the people that Brian works with in NC, I got him REALLYYYYYY good.  Now, that's good and it's bad, because when my 50th rolls around - I'm going underground because Brian is a pro at revenge!!

I made this card for Brian's birthday this year because as I told him - he's really "over the hill" now!  Brian is a true computer geek (which means he is highly intelligent - a gene I did not inherit) and you never see him without his computer somewhere close by.  Thus my idea for the card.

I used Design Studio and Cursive 101 to merge two computers together to form the card base.  Then all I had to do is write my sentiments.

Needless to say - Brian did think it was funny!!  He also warned me that my time is fast approaching and that he's still got two more years to plan his revenge.  I must say, I'm REALLY SCARED!!!!!

Oh well, I hope you enjoyed this little funny card and the story behind it.  I know it's not anything special but I thought it turned out cute!

Now - I have to take a few minutes to brag on my little mama!!  Because of her talent in cardmaking and because she makes such beautiful projects, she has been asked to become a Design Team member for Fantabulous Cricut.  I'm sure she'll do a wonderful job for them!!  I'm so proud of you, Mom!!!  Congratulations!!

Well, thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow - we do appreciate your visits!!  Until another day,  God Bless You!!  Donna

Hello From the Missing Member of the Blog!!!!

Hi Everyone, I've had a wonderful week at Myrtle Beach with my brother and sister-in-law.  The weather was perfect up through today.  The weather waited until time for us to go home to turn cool.  It's supposed to be in the 30's tonight.  We'll head home Sat. morning.  I have to admit I ate too much and spent too much money.

I have missed all our blogging friends and can't wait to get back home and in my craft space.  Donna calls it "Happy Space".  While you're crafting all you can think about is what you're doing.  There are no worries to bother you.  Donna has done a wonderful job keeping the blog going.  She's the best little blog partner anyone could have.  I'm glad she's mine.  Thank you, Donna, you get an "Atta, Girl!" for all your hard work.  All your posts were adorable.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.  Looking forward to more fun and posts to share with you.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

TRICK OR TREAT BOXES - WRAP IT UP, MELJEN'S DIGITAL STAMP

Hi Everyone!  I made Jacob's teachers and my boss a little something for Halloween.  I have to deliver them tomorrow (Jacob said he would be too "shy" to deliver them - HA) because I have to attend a conference next week and will not be home for Halloween.  Can you believe that someone would actually schedule a conference on Halloween?  That person must not have any kids at home that like to go trick or treating!!

I used the Wrap It Up cartridge to cut out the boxes and then scored the edges with MS score pad.  I glued them together with Tacky Tape.

I then cut out the layer pumpkin to fit on the front of the boxes.

I used a Meljen's Digital Stamp for the tags and colored them  with Promarkers, punched a hole for the ribbon, then tied a knot.  Oh Soooooo Simple!!  Then the fun part was putting candy in them - yum, yum!!!

I hope the teachers will like them.  I try to let them know they are appreciated.  It takes a very special person to be a teacher.  Thanks to all the teachers out there for all the hard work that you do for our children!!

Thanks so much for stopping by - we love company.  Speaking of company, Jacob's having a sleepover tonight.  Why do they call it a sleepover when the kids do NOT want to go to sleep??  I'm sure that Saturday will hold a nap for all of us!!

Have a good weekend!  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

Lara Ladybug 3D Decoupage - Elegant Edges, Digital Delights by Louby Loo

Hi Everyone - I have a volunteer having a birthday this week and she loves ladybugs.  When I saw this digi, Lara Ladybug at Digital Delights by Louby Loo, I knew that I would use it for my volunteer.

A decoupage digi is a full sheet of a digi that you cut out and pop all layers on top of each other.  It's a very easy digi to use because it comes pre-colored - all you need is a sharp pair of scissors.

I used the sketch at "Sunday Sketch & Stamp" for the card layout.  I covered the cardbase with black embossed paper.  Cut a 4 3/4" scalloped circle using Elegant Edges (I warned you yesterday that I was using that cart again today).  I cut the heart border using the same cartridge.  I put dots of red Stickles around the circle.  The sentiment is also a Digital Delights digi.

Hop over to Digital Delights to see all the other beautiful creations by the rest of the Design Team.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come back tomorrow!!  Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna

HAPPY THANKSGIVING - QUIRKY TURKEY, ELEGANT EDGES

Hi Everyone!  I made a Thanksgiving card for my nephew in California who I more than likely will not get to see this Thanksgiving.  I used this digi "Quirky Turkey" from Doodle Pantry that is free with any purchase.  Don't you just think he's the cutest??  I used sketch from Challenge #42 at Sketch by Carly for the layout of the card.

I used a 5" x 7" cardbase and covered it with black cardstock.  I then covered the black with a slightly smaller square of patterned orange paper.  I printed out the color digi and framed it in black.  I then cut out a oblong frame using Elegant Edges (yes, I had to use it again - just can't seem to make a card without the cartridge.  The card for tomorrow uses it too, oops!!)  I popped the image for more dimension.  I then cut a corner border and used Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch.  The sentiment is from Doodle Pantry too, framed in black and popped.  I then added a little bling to add more color.  A girl can never have too much bling!!!

I think this digi made the cutest card and I think Nathaniel (my nephew) will really like it.  He appreciates creativity!!

Well, thanks for stopping by!!  Mom and I love visitors and comments - please come back tomorrow!!  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna  (p.s.  Miss you, Mom - have fun and remember, River City!)

SNOWBIRDIE - DOODLE PANTRY

Hi Everyone - you all know how much I love this little birdie - I can't help but smile every time I see it. This digi can be found in the Doodle Pantry store - he's called Snowbirdie.  I found the sketch for this card at the Sweet Stop blog.I covered the cardbase with plaid blue paper.  The pink paper is a digi paper from Doodle Pantry - I cut three strips at 4 1/2" x 1 1/2".  I then cut blue paper to measure 4 1/4" x 1 1/4".   I popped the image and cut a border punched with the Martha Stewart Snowflake punch.  I adhered a string of pearls to the border.  I then glued snowflakes to the card and used stickles on the snow on the digi.

Hopefully, this card will bring a smile to your day too.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come back again tomorrow.  Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna

Peek A Boo Pumpkin - Halloween Cuttlebug, Digital Delights by Louby Loo

Hi Everyone - when Jacob was little and he was sad, he would say, "Mommy, I'm saddee!"  Well, today at our house, we're SADDEE!!  Mamaw went home even though we begged her to stay - she had responsibilities to take care!  It's not fun to be responsible sometimes!!

While Mom was here, we crafted in my "Happy Space" (but truth be told, that space frustrates my mom because it's still not completely organized - HA).  Since Halloween is just around the corner, I decided to use the Peek A Boo Pumpkin digi from Digital Delights by Louby Loo to make a card.  This digi is totally cute!  I used the sketch at Mojo Monday to make the card.

I embossed a piece of black cardstock using the Cuttlebug Halloween Embossing Folder and covered one half of the cardbase with it and the other half with striped pattern DCWV Halloween paper.  I adhered halloween ribbon and tied a bow.  I colored the digi with Promarkers and adhered her to spiderweb patterned paper.  I copied the Boo To You digi by Digital Delights into Word and then used a text box to put the word "Boo" inside the circle.  I then used a 1 1/4" circle punch to cut it out, then used a 1 1/2" circle punch  to cut out another circle - then popped both.  I then added a corner anchor and added bling.

I have plans to send this card to Jacob's teacher along with a little Halloween treat next week.  Please visit the Digital Delights website to view the new releases and all the other digis you can find there.  Also, check out the other Design Teams creations - they are all very talented.

Thanks for stopping by today!  If you haven't entered our contest for a Michael's gift card, scroll down and enter with a comment.  Random.org will pick a winner on Friday.  Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna  (p.s.  Miss you, Mom!)

WIN A MICHAEL'S GIFT CARD - CALLING CARDS

Hi Everyone - Mom and I are going to a Cricut Circle Crop in November.  We made calling cards to take with us to give to everyone that is attending.  The cards are similar but different to reflect the different styles that we both use.

Here is how the cards were made:

Card on Left                                          Card on Right

Butterfly       Create a Critter                                    MS Elegant Cakes
Flowers        Walk In My Garden                              Mother's Day Bouquet
Accents      Stickles/Liquid Pearls                             Stickles/Liquid Pearls

Now for the chance to win a $10 Michael's Gift Card - Mom and I seem to think that we have two distinctive styles - one we call froo-froo and the other we call cutesy-tootsy!!  We want to see if you know which style goes with each of us.  So we would like for you to leave a comment below and in the comment please state which card belongs to Peggy and which card belongs to Donna!  Please make sure to leave a way to contact you in your comment.  The winner will be chosen by random.org on Friday night, October 21st at 8:00 p.m. and announced on Saturday, October 22nd.

Thanks for stopping by and we hope you will join in on our contest!!  I don't know about you but I love FREE stuff!  Good luck and until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR - LACY LABELS, DOODLE PANTRY

Hi Everyone!  Guess what?  Mom's here visiting with me - YIPPEE!!!  We've been trying to come up with a design for my ATC cards for the upcoming Cricut Circle Crop in Greenville, SC that's coming up in November.  Mom's has hers already made - she's always been an overachiever!!

While Mom worked on the ATC cards, I made this card for Doodle Pantry using the Pumpkin Birdie pre-colored digi.  Those of you that read our blog every day know that I just love this little birdie.  He's absolutely the cutest!!

I cut the card base for measure 7" x 5 1/2" and covered it with patterned Fall paper.  I printed two of the Pumpkin Birdie and popped one on top of the other.  I used the Lacy Labels cartridge to cut out the frame and the background frame.  I printed some leaves to put along one side of the frame and printed out the sentiment which is also a Doodle Pantry digital stamp.

I used the negative images to decorate the inside of the card.  (I learned this trick from Mom who learned it from Bobby Hargrove at Cricut Couple!)  I printed some leaves to put along one side of the frame and printed out the sentiment which is also a Doodle Pantry digital stamp.

Laurie has a lot of new digis in her store - please visit Doodle Pantry and see what all the other Design Team has made with the digis.  Doodle Pantry has something for everyone!!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by - we appreciate your visits and your comments.  Hopefully, Mom and I will be able to show you some of our creations before Mom goes home!  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna
