THANK YOU to my Volunteers!!

Hi Everyone - Last week, Mom and I showed you some pictures of the Service Awards Banquet that we hosted for the volunteers at Memorial Hospital.  Our color scheme of the party was black, gold, and red.  I wanted to make some thank you cards for the volunteers that helped with the set up of the event.

To make the cards, I chose paper from the La Creme stack by Die Cuts with a View.  In Design Studio, I used the book feature on the Elegant Edges to form a card measuring 8.35 x 5 inches.  I chose the book feature that had heart cut outs because the theme of our banquet was "An Evening of Heart and Soul."  I scored the center to fold into cards.    I cut red cardstock to measure 2" x 5" to show through the hearts.  I used Word for the sentiment and popped it on top of black cardstock.

These were simple cards to make; but I needed to make a lot of cards in a short amount of time.  I made 12 cards in less than an hour.

I must confess that my house is extremely quiet this week because Jacob is with Mamaw!  But I've been enjoying myself even though I miss my son bunches!!  I'll have to deprogram him next week I'm sure if I can get him to come home!  Thanks for stopping by and we hope you'll come back again tomorrow!  Until another day, God bless you!!  Donna

Paper Lace Thank You

While Donna and I were together this past week, we were so busy with the Volunteer Banquet, looking at townhomes and activities afterwards, we didn't have much time for crafting.  However, Friday night we decided we were having withdrawals so we made this thank you card.

Paper Lace has some of the prettiest sentiments  of any cartridges Provocraft has made.  This is a simple card and easy to make but I think it turned out very pretty.

Card Recipe:
A2 card base
Background  paper - DCWV Lemon Flower Stack - a beautiful new paper stack.
Paper Lace Cricut Cartridge for the Thank You and the shadow - cut at 3.75".
Yellow gems and butterfly from the $1 bin at Michaels
 Ribbon

Thank you for visiting with us today.  We love reading your comments and appreciate your faithfulness.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

OH WHAT FUN WE'VE HAD!!

Hi Everyone!!  I've truly enjoyed having my mom here this week.  She wants to go home tomorrow but I'm trying to talk her out of it!!  She's going to take Jacob with her.  I told her that she could just stay here for the summer.

Mom posted some pictures of the banquet we held for my volunteers this week.  We worked hard but it came together into a great evening had by all.  Today was another fun day for my mom and I!!  I've said it many times before but I have the best boss in the world.  At our hospital, we have to take employee surveys each year and if your department scores high on the survey, then the department gets to have a celebration.  There are only four people in our department but we scored really high on the survey.  My boss, Jean, took all of us out for lunch and then to have a pedicure.  Jean invited my mom to come along for the celebration since she worked so hard to set up for the banquet.

Here are a few pictures of the fun we had:

After the pedicure, Mom and I had some more fun!!  This week at Memorial Hospital, the Auxiliary held a fundraiser.  The vendor was selling large tote bags, jewelry, etc.  We decided to have it monogrammed with our blog address.  We bought our bag at the sale and took them to a new business in Fort Oglethorpe, GA named "All Things Personalized" to have them monogrammed with our blog address.  If you live near Fort O - please stop by this new business - they did a GREAT job!!

Here is a picture of the finished product:
Don't you just love it??

Well, thanks for stopping by.  I sure will be glad when my mom's house sells and she can move near me.  That way we can have FUN all the time.  Take care and please come back tomorrow for another visit.  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

Memorial's Volunteer Banquet

As we have told you, Donna works with the Volunteers at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.  There are over 600 of them.  This past Tuesday night, Memorial held it's annual Volunteer Banquet to show their appreciation for the thousands of hours donated by this group.  Jean, Donna and their committee have worked on this event for months.  I don't think the volunteers realize how much work goes into it.

It was a beautiful event.  They had the Willie Kitchens Band for entertainment.  Willie Kitchens sang with the Impressions back in the day and has been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Willie is now the Minister of Music at his church and his love of the Lord showed.

We took a few pictures to show you.  Thanks for stopping by.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, CRAIG!!!

Hi Everyone!  I haven't posted in a while!  This month is one the busiest months at my job so I've been swamped with work both night and day!

I figured that I better make a Father's Day card for my husband since Father's Day is this Sunday.  I must confess that I wasn't in the mood to make this type card because I've been really missing my Daddy!  He's been gone a little over a year now and I have many wonderful memories of what a great dad he was!!  It helps to know that I will see him again one day!!
I designed this card in Design Studio using Plantin and Mickey Font.  I welded the rectangle and the letters to form the card base.  I then cut the top of the card out of the blue paper in the DCWV Bluejean Paper.  I then cut the letters out of red and silver paper.  I used the Martha Stewart Heart Punch to punch the heart border down the side.  I pop dotted the red "Dad" on the front of the card and adhered the silver "Dad" to the inside.  I then used Word for the sentiment and then framed it with silver and red paper.

Don't forget to honor your Dad on Father's Day and make sure you tell him how special he is to you and treasure every moment.  Thanks for stopping by and we hope you'll come back again another day!  Until another day, God Bless You!!  Donna

Here Today - Gone Tomorrow

I have a couple of things today.  Create with TLC is giving away some blog candy.  Click here for complete details.  The more people who enter the better chance you have of winning.  Be sure to check it out.

Guess what my Mail Lady brought me yesterday?  Here is a picture.

Guess what is going to Provocraft tomorrow?  The same machine.  I tried setting it up last night and finally gave up at 12:00 midnight thinking I will call Provocraft in the morning.  They told me I needed to get the new update.  I connected with Cricut Sync and installed the new firmware and the new content updates or at least I thought I did.  Long story short, my machine would not update the content.  So after 3 phone calls to PC, they said they would send me a new machine.  I had read on Cricut Diaries where Jennifer had gotten 3, waiting on her 4th, Imagines and none of them worked.  I hope this won't be the situation I face.  Oh well, this too shall pass.

Thanks for dropping by today.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

My Wish For You

The weekends are especially hard for me since my husband passed.  It seems that's when I miss him most.  I miss him other days, also, but weekends are worse.  There is just a void in my heart ( I call it a hole in my heart) that nothing can fill.  If it weren't for the Lord, I don't know what I would do.

I said all that to say, If you have your mate, show them how special they are to you today.  Say I Love YOU constantly.  We were very close and I miss those I love yous.  Do something extraordinary for your special someone today.

I don't mean to bring any sadness to your heart today.  On the contrary, I wish you sunshine, smiles, joy, happiness and peace.  Live today to the fullest, to the full potential that God has for you.  I love you all and wish you God filled day.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy

Finishing Inside of Cards

I am bad about making a card and just completing the outside, not the inside.  I've got quite a few I have done this way so I decided this week to work on finishing them.  Therefore, when I need to send a card or sell one, it is ready to go out the door.  I will show you the card and then the inside.

Card #1 - This is the link to the card if you want to look at the post.
